I know someone on it. Don't know if he's on AFF or not though.

I was tempted, but couldn't make it. I did ask for him to fry me up some chips on the way though :D

cue all the 'oil n chips' references.....oh wait.... hopefully there will be 1 or 2 serious/intelligent/informed posts on this topic to keep my interest!!! i can only hope :!:

My flight left ADL at midday, Adelaide radio said it was due to land just after midday. :( It wasn't anywhere to be seen as we taxied out to the runway.

I think the NZ flight (AKL-LAX if memory serves) was not completely bio-fuel... IIRC (and this sounds odd to me now) I thought they said one engine was using that fuel..????

Yes similiar to what this QF flight was, there was a brief interview with the captain this morning on Sunrise and he said one engine would be the bio-fuel blend, the other convential aviation fuel.

How about you provide a serious/intelligent/informed post then?

My post was before the flight had even landed so no information was available beyond that which was in the media.

I could relay my friend's thoughts, or ask him to stop into this thread and share them himself but no. I'll bow out of this thread instead as life's too short to be serious all the time.

My boss was on this. My understanding is there were 2 - the official first flight (with the media show etc) and a regular fight that anyone could purchase tickets for (4 digit flight number). Both SYD-ADL.

I know he made it back safely - will ask him how it was next week.

Cheers.

I am on AFF ;-)
Was lucky enough to go to the launch thanks to the Comms team at Qantas. The whole day went amazingly smoothly. Was fun (And I ended up saying a few words for ABC news haha)

Correct. It was a commercial flight, with discounted ticketing if you got in early ($140 each was for cheapest ticket).
Business was a press junket and Qantas employees that were involved in the day. Was a lovely flight in row 5, two glasses of champagne on the way to Adelaide at 1030 is always fun :D

Nice one. I'll see where my boss was sitting - may have been in your row! Was every seat taken?

Not sure about every seat. I was lucky enough to be in row 5 both there and back. I was second on for the SYDADL so not sure on numbers but was late-ish getting on for the trip home and there was quite a queue of people to get on board.
