Wow what a suprise no sympathy coming from your neck of the woods, I'm glad VA appears to be doing well...
I think its a bit callous of a remark, I feel sorry for all employees at all airlines who have lost/will lose their postions because of the downturn in international travel - it is through no fault of their own nor specifically of QF's either. Just because they were part of a company making money out of a route doesn't in my book mean they deserve what has happened.
Equally if VA ends up not being able to sustain their routes I would feel empathy for their staff losses (and I do of course for the the already redundent DJ workers).
I think some empathy and awareness that there are human faces behind these companies regardless of whether you like them or not is sometimes good to remember...
