EK Y - Got a personal greeting at my seat from the Cabin Supervisor as a QF Plat a few days ago.
Same here - on almost every single CX flight I am taking. Not just out of Singapore.Meanwhile, Cathay Purser from SGN to HKG earlier in the day came for a long chat at the seat.
SGN being Ho Chi MinhSame here - on almost every single CX flight I am taking. Not just out of Singapore.
Also, free J upgrade on CX earlier this week from HKG to HAN. CX goes above and beyond for me.
As a data point, I got one (and a Qantas keychain) last year on ADL-DRW on an E190. Everyone in J got one, if I recall correctly.WHen I got to my (upgrade) seat in J today on 127 there was a hand written card for me from the CSM thanking me for my continued patronage (photo of card attached, but not message inside. I'm not clever enough to work out how to block out my name).
CSM was very welcoming and chatty.
Is this card thing new?
Also on an E190 from ADL-DRW when I was a WP received a cap and key chain, as did the CL in 1F but no one else and also same route but after reaching P1 got a handwritten P1 card and a block of Lindt Dubai chocolate. As a data point, I got one (and a Qantas keychain) last year on ADL-DRW on an E190. That chocolate was like $20 a block at Woollies!!Also on an E190 from ADL-DRW when I was a WP received a cap and key chain, as did the CL in 1F but no one else and also same route but after reaching P1 got a handwritten P1 card and a block of Lindt Dubai chocolate.

Does it matter? It was more than what was paid for - so a bonus. That chocolate was like $20 a block at Woollies!!
Was it $20 good?!
The price of that particular block of chocolate was unusually high at the time of its release on the Australian market. Double the price of ‘regular’ Lindt blocks.Does it matter? It was more than what was paid for - so a bonus.
Whether one values that as $1, $20 or more will always be highly subjective. I suspect 99% would think it was a nice gesture (regardless of what airline it was).

Mum ate most of it but the bit I had was okayyy, I won’t give it higher praise than that. The pistachio bombs that they had at Aldi for a while and now coles are better imo and ~ 1/3 the price! Not sure what I’d need to smoke to pay $20 for one block of Lindt. That chocolate was like $20 a block at Woollies!!
