QF dom in Y, never any acknowledgement other than at BP check. Wouldn't expect it either.
QF dom in J, usually addressed by name but after checking the IPad. Most interactions favour the QF staff repositioning.
QF Int in Y, same as dom. Wouldn't expect.
QF Int in J, always greeted but any warmth or sincerity is dependent upon the individual crew member and their experience away from the IPad.
BA, AY, JL in J all acknowledged, AY the better.
AA in Y not acknowledged onboard but status at checkin warmly greeted.
It really is all a throw of the dice and certainly depends on the individual crew members. I've had appreciated interaction with experienced crew flying J domestically and also the complete opposite.
The same applies to Int QF flights in J. Some crew members have been exceptional in their greetings and pax interaction. From some you feel like you're a hinder! The same experiences have been true for me when flying paid, on an upgrade or on an award ticket.
The welcome is a nice acknowledgement of customer loyalty but ultimately what's nicer is if it feels more sincere than reading from a script.
Not cabin crew any more but our friend in the WLG lounge exemplifies all of that. A QF hero!
