Hi Brains trust...

Recently travelled on a very last minute trip in whY from SYD to LHR on EK on QF code share flight numbers. Sub AU$2,000 so no complaints when booking 24 hours out!
Timing was brilliant... same day departure from SYD and arrival in LHR that isn't OMG o'clock is great. Return trip arriving in SYD at 10:00pm was brilliant... straight to bed and off to work the next day!
The two short visits in the First Lounge at DXB were pretty snappy... the T3 QF lounge at LHR was in between meal service so there was actually no hot food available and the staff were not able to advise if anything was going to be served soon! In fairness the CSO at the entrance said this 'was probably going to be the case'. :):):)

Can anyone advise that this is the norm when a QF WP is flying EK with QF code share flight numbers:
  • The last boarding group was noted on all BPs and there was no access to premium seating.
  • Declined admission at the LHR T3 CX Lounge as 'you must be flying on a Oneworld carrier'.
If this is all so.... how cool is the EK/QF partnership?

Interested to hear the gang's thoughts and experiences....
