Hi all,

Im flying from Heathrow on an International flight and thought i could access the Emirates Lounge as a QF Plat member, but apparently that's not the case unless im a Chairmans Club member? as im slumming it in economy from London. (According to a popular FF site)

Is it possible to access the OW first-lounges? as im unsure even though i think it is a QF code-share with emirates is this allowed?

Cheers
C

You can access Emirates lounges as a QF gold or Plat/Plat One provided you are flying on Qantas or Emirates..Internationally, Chairmans Lounge PAX are just seen as Plats I believe.

I do know that a few lounges have specific entry rules, which exclude QF flyers but I don't think there are many and I doubt LHR would be one...??

This is what i thought but according to a very popular Australian FF site; It stated only QF CL were allowed to the Emirates Lounge which is why im concerned. Unless your flying Business/First-Class.

Is it possible they were referring to an Emirates IO lounge (If they even have any) This is the Emirates version of CL. I'm sure someone who has flown through LHR recently will be able to assist but as far as I can tell you should be fine.

There are different rules around the EK LHR lounge for QFF members compared to most other EK lounges; I can't remember specifically what though.

These are the published rules:

Platinum One, Platinum and Gold Qantas Frequent Flyer members (including eligible guests) have access to:

  • The British Airways Lounge at London Heathrow when their next onward flight is a Qantas operated flight.
  • The Emirates Lounge at London Heathrow when their next onward flight is an Emirates operated flight.

Qantas Club members have access to
  • The American Airlines Admirals Lounge at London Heathrow T3 when their next onward flight is operated by Qantas or Emirates to Dubai or Australia

QF F passengers and CL can access the EK lounge at LHR. Definitely no access for QF Plat unless in F. Forgive me if this has changed as my last visit was last month.
As a Plat member you can access the CX/AA/BA lounges Emerald equivalent (CX may be undergoing renos at the minute, but I forget). The best of the F Lounges is the BA one IMO, noodles good in CX and give AA Flagship a miss as its dire

And I still really like the champagne bar in the BA First Lounge

Really? OP is travelling on EK metal (QF flight #). I was allowed into the EK J lounge at LHR as QF SG (lounge angel even allowed me to guest Mrs Lambchop +2 toddlers) when travelling on EK metal QF codeshare, although admittedly that was c.12 months ago.

Post #6 provides your answer and the answer for the OP.

So yes WP on EK flight can access EK lounge according to the information provided.

I had no problem accessing the EK lounge in LHR T3 last month. I was in F however.

In any case I left after ten minutes, the food offering was tired and there was a heat crust across hot items (breakfast time). The BA F lounge is definitely still the best bet in T3 (although spa treatment has been withdrawn from non BA customers)

Walked passed the CX Lounge on Monday morning - seemed to be welcoming guests (also flagged as the Lounge for AY), I thought I read somewhere it was closing in 2016 ... may have just dreamt it!!

Regards,

I was on EK 4 LHR-DXB (sold as QF8004) 3 weeks ago in Y and as a QF WP was warmly welcomed in. You will be fine. :)

Also, yes EK see CL, P1, and PL all as Platinum FF.

You are correct. I misread the OP and only saw the QF flight number.
