QF or JQ hotel voucher

Hello there fellow AFF'ers,

I've got a short personal hotel booking coming up and was wondering if anyone had any QF or JQ vouchers that I could use? to offset some of the cost?

I don't have any valid vouchers to share, however you may be able to make your own. On two recent classic award bookings Qantas sent me a $30 hotels voucher valid for 72 hours. Those classic award bookings are cancellable without penalty.... I'll let you join the dots

Interesting. Am assuming you only receive the voucher if your award booking is for Qantas-operated flights?

I can't say for sure but possibly. Both bookings I made are QF operated - one international return, one domestic one-way.

Good to know. I didn't get a voucher for my CX/JL award flights.

I'm about to book a hotel too...and obviously $30 is $30 so I might try this trick too.

Do you recall how long after creating the booking it took for the voucher email to turn up?

For me it always turns up around the same time as, or sometimes even before you get the itinerary e-mail. So very quick.

When flight bookings were a tad more plentiful those vouchers were intermittent. Didn't receive on every flight booking

The only times I've been sent a voucher was when it was offered on the platinum FF loyalty email or because it was my birthday.

I got birthday vouchers only in the last two years, but not this year (obviously).

They sent 2x $50 vouchers in the Platinum newsletter in the second half of last year, and a reminder of one unused voucher in Feb. Nothing since.
