I've had some trouble doing OLCI yesterday and today for a ADL to CBR flight. When I logged into my FF account on the website and then view the booking the OLCI option was not available (greyed out). However, if I wasn't logged in and went through manage my booking directly OLCI option was available.

Anyone else have this?

I also had a question about the change seat function. What does a vacant seat mean? Or even an occupied seat?

I assume that they must pre-assign some or all seats because I've checked in before with about a 30 sequence number but much more than 30 seats have been occupied. (assuming sequence number is check in order and not status related order) If this is the case that would suggest that an unoccupied seat has a good chance of remaining unoccupied.

However, that doesn't match another OLCI experience where over half the seats were empty at check in but the flight was full.

Anyway, I'm slightly bemused by the seat selection thing and what it means in real terms. Any guidance would be great.

Thanks for the link, and for moving the thread.

I was following the other thread but didn't keep up.
Maybe this thread can be deleted.

I had the exact same problem when I tried to OLCI in this morning. The OLCI options also became available when I'm not logged in.

I have not been able to use OLCI for domestic flights for a while now. Has anyone reported the issue to QF?

I had a problem with OLCI yesterday - an error submitting the form - which I have had previously. So I rang QF and they advised that there was a widespread system problem yesterday and it was "going up and down". I retried, twice, and eventually it worked. The woman I spoke to said it had been problematic for a few months and that they were working on it.

Have you tried to OLCI using Qantas.com MYB - without logging on (use your booking reference and Surname)?

No. I have just clicked on the booking and found the OLCI box to be greyed out.

This sounds like what I had. Don't login but go straight to manage my booking using the reference and surname. Or use the OLCI option from the website. That also worked for me, when login to FF account didn't work. (yes I changed seats about 4 times for the flight)

Had a similar issue on Wednesday. Checked in Tuesday evening, but when trying to check seats on Wednesday, the check-in button was greyed out whether I went via My Bookings and View via reference and name. Didn't try without logging on though.

Thanks heaps for this advice as I've been frustrated doing my OLCI BNE-CNS for tomorrow. There is always a way around the QF system thanks to FF's.;)

Qantas online check-in not available??

I have a domestic flight tonight and tried to do online check-in and the
"Online Check-in" button is not shown. Only says "Quickcheck available at airport"....
It has been like that since last night....

I have done Online Check-in before without issue....

Any reason??

Just did an OLCI for domestic flights tomorrow. This was the first time I have done this since report of problems with OLCI.

I can confirm I was unable to OLCI from my Bookings after logging on.

The OLCI image was greyed out (insensitive).

By logging off and going via Manage Your Booking I was then able to OLCI.

(Great seats BTW for this QF WP w [PG] bar! - I could select from almost any seat in the cabins. This was particularly good as one of the flights is J0 Y0)

I'm currently trying to OLCI for a 12:40 flight tomorrow and it's not letting me - it keeps saying that OLCI is not available yet, and to come back 24 hours before the flight...

(ironically, at the top of the "manage your booking" page there is also a message saying "You cannot change this flight as it is less than 24 hours away")

There's bound to be a bug somewhere - i had the same issue too in BNE last friday (see thread). I was also told on the phone when i rang to check my flight was still ok that there are sometimes issues with OLCI when the flights are very full. And yeah, love the "you cant change your flights" and the "OLCI available 24hrs prior to departure" yet couldnt OLCI.

Note also in BNE on firday they were calling people to board "immediately" if holding BPs, as they were no doubt looking to bump tardy comers as the flights were all chokkas (end of scholl hols).

I sent feedback to QF the other day about the problems I had the other week with OLCI and the response was:

Dear Mr straitman,

Thank you for your email.

Please call Qantas Telephone Sales when having problems, as this helps update the system when we know the problems your having via the internet.

Yours sincerely,

Zzzz
QANTAS Airways

I emailed back that that was exactly what I did on one occasion but there was a distinct lack of interest from whom ever I spoke to at Qantas.

The further response was:

Dear Mr straitman,

Thank you for you email. I will forwarded this to Customer Care.

Yours sincerely,

The email repsonse you got is pretty poor. I also rang them about OLCI not working and they were pretty disinterested, besides checking there was nothing on the booking that was blocking OLCI.

I hope customer care has a care factor > 0
