QF New Zealand Fly Away Sale

Yeah, the NZ-AU legs are always cheaper because the taxes are lower in that direction. The base fare is probably the same.

Well, I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, that Qantas would pass the 'savings' on and not just top up the base fare.

I'm shocked prices aren't even cheaper. Some AU-NZ flights make Rex 737 patronage look good, I would have thought there would have been constantly cheap fares to get people moving because it's clear people are scared to cross the Tasman.

I'm surprised Qantas doesn't allow rerouting for passengers originating outside NSW but planning to transfer. For example, if you're flying BNE-SYD-WLG, you could reroute BNE-MEL-WLG

I've got QF bookings transiting MEL atm and QF want me to pay to reroute (I'm WP on a fully flexible, cash J fare). This is after QF cancelled my original afternoon flight, put me on a morning flight instead and also retimed my return flight, stuffing up all my connections in the process which required a phone call to sort out, and I now need to get up at OMG o'clock to even make the outward flight.

It's apparently fine for QF to cancel or reschedule flights and I have to suck it up, but no help for me from QF with a reroute to avoid MEL 😡. Luckily the trip isn't for a few weeks yet.

Weird! 3 weeks ago, Qantas Cancelled my 6pm-Midnight MEL-AKL flight, putting me on a 9am-3pm flight instead.

The notification offered the option to accept online - I did not, I called up and was readily rerouted without issue, MEL-xSYD-AKL, departing MEL 3pm.

I also spoke to the call centre(?) staff on a cancellation and rebook of flight by Qantas, as the link to online change was not booking. I spent 4 hours waiting on the line but at least the call was not cut off as with some other businesses. May be II had been lucky in a sense I would have surrendered all my toghts (and options?) with a wrong click?!
