QF Multi-City Issues

I think it's time for a specific thread on issues with the QF Multi-City booking tool. I found by searching that there are bits and pieces of information scattered far and wide on the forum, but I didn't find a dedicated place for Multi city questions.

So I'd like to kick off by asking about the number of flights you can book on this tool. Everything was fine until I added the 6th flight. I've checked and the flights I want are legit destinations. It's for a paid fare, and the stop overs I want (SIN, DXB, DXB, BKK) are within the fare rules. It blows up and gives me "We couldn't find any flights for the dates you entered. Try changing the details and search again. (#66002)" when I add in the 6th flight. It made no difference if I dropped CBR as the final destination and just went in/out of SYD.

I want to go:
1. CBR-SIN
2. SIN-DXB
3. DXB-WAW
4. CPN-DXB
5. DXB-BKK
6. BKK-CBR

I seem to recall somewhere, someone, sometime said that it will only really work with 5 flights. Is that memory correct?

Do I need to call to make this booking? I don't want to actually book right now - I just want an idea of the fare I will pay and to have my flights lined up ready to book just in case there is a DSC sometime soon. I assume QF will crack it if I call and ask for all this just to get a quote?

Can someone with more experience me assist on this?

I think your recollection is right. If you want to ticket you’ll have problems with 6 sectors. You can book the 5 and call up to add the 6th.

I must be blessed! I was able to find flights and book my last J Oneworld Classic Reward of 9 separate sectors using the multi-city tool. Finding the flights took a bit of experimentation with route options but once I had it settled I plugged it all into the multi-city tool and unbeleivably got through to the payment page. And it accepted payment!

CMB - DEL (stopover)
DEL - HEL
<surface sector (stopover)>
SOF - LHR (stopover)
LHR - CMB
CMB - MLE (stopover)
MLE - KUL (stopover)
KUL - CGK
