Anyone one know what is going on with the DASH 8's to and from BNE/EMD today ... ??

Currently QF2411 & 2413 (EMD - BNE) are 2+ hrs late and keep slipping further. None of the guys here can tell what's happening as they can't get news from BNE. (they are reasonably guys too, very helpful.)

I saw the news about the repositioned DASH 8 to Moranbah that had to land with smoke in the coughpit ... that was reportedly at 1230, so I can't see that affecting these 2 flights to and from EMD

Considering there’s no flights to CTL/RMA I’d have thought they’d have some excess capacity too!

The reliability to and from EMD is terrible and seems to have become worse with DJ commencing BNE EMD BNE flights.

Maybe I should be thankful that I chose DJ for my flight, as well as delaying my flight tomorrow for a week.

DJ is using Skywest as its codeshare partner...

this one was booked by my client ... so I was 'stuck' with QF. I have been booking DJ to EMD from BNE. They have been very reliable so far. The thing that worries me about DJ is that they only have one flight BNE EMD at 0545 (returns at 0700 or something) and then one BNE EMD 1700 or thereabouts which then turns around back to BNE. if there is a 'technical' issue with their aircraft, that's just going to mean pain for pax as there are not enough ATR's in the fleet to send one up.

QF Link are terrible though out of EMD ... we got back at 2050 tonight! Was sched to land at 1635 ... useless

bigjobs, I agree about the problem if things go tech or delayed.

I understand they (Skywest) have one positioned in BNE. It leaves at 05.45 (codeshare DJ 1255) and arrives EMD 7.40am. It does a quick turnaround and leaves at 08.10 (DJ 1256) arriving BNE 09.55. It then either does more sectors elsewhere or sits on the tarmac and operates the scheduled 16.00 service (DJ 1261) arriving EMD 17.55. Finally it returns as DJ 1262, departing 18.25 and arrives 20.10

Like you, I am concerned if there are systemwide delay issues and the afternoon flight becomes like the QF flight you took last night. Or it goes tech and I am stuck in EMD overnight - at least I'd have somewhere to bunk down that wouldn't cost me anything ;). I can only imagine how hard it would be to get on the next mornings' flight (DJ or QF).

They have at least three at BNE, this morning FVI,L and M were flying. H must have been in CBR.

So long as they are all flying next Friday, I'll be happy. I woke up this morning thinking wistfully that I would have been on a flight this morning :(
