I've m flying to Narita on Jan 24 and return mid Feb. I am booked in J, on the way over i currently have a Old First Seat up the front , i have not sat in first seat before when sold as J, so curious even though my flight out is before business sleeper service, will the crew be using the sleeper equipment it uses when First is sold and used ?

In the past whenever I've had F seating sold as J tix with J service they never use the bedding. Even to DFW never got the bedding.

But YMMV so happy travels.

Have had the experience on 6 flights now and have to say it is a lot better and assists in making the skybed much more acceptable.

Only down side is that I have founf it to be a tad hot specially in Emerald city where it normally warmer for some reason anyway:D

Great service ! Not by any means saying for QF to keep Skybed mk1 but on my recent Tokyo flights It has allowed me to go from having a couple hours sleep to at least 6 per flight. The tea2 is also really nice and relaxing

Found it good on QF6 from SIN -SYD last week, it gave the seat some additional padding and also when trying to sleep you were not slipping down as much, or at least that is what I felt. But doesn't beat the Skybed MK11.

Had it on the MkII skybed coming back from Tokyo recently. Pretty comfy. I slept like a baby. In fact, I wished the flight was longer so I could get more sleep! On the way up to Tokyo was in the old F seats (J booking and service though). I think I prefer the MkII seat with the "mattress" to the old F seats. Seems a bit wider at the shoulders when laying down.

Could also be though the flight on the way up was really turbulent and interfered with my sleep.

Sounds good! I will be trying it out in 2 weeks from Dallas so I think that extra padding will make a difference on a 16 hr leg! I didn't know about the tea, but I'll take that too :p

Just found the following on the Qantas website. Was wondering when the service would be extended.

Cheers,
PM

Get sleepy in Business. Our new sleep service, including a new mattress, duvet and turndown service, is now rolling out in International Business cabins across the network. Enjoy the service on flights QF107 and 108 to LA now, soon to be followed by more flights to LA from 17 December; Dallas, Johannesburg and New York from 7 January; Singapore, London and Frankfurt from 14 January; and Hong Kong, Narita, Bangkok, Jakarta, Shanghai and Manila from 28 January 2013. Why not try our T2 Wellbeing tea before you go to bed? Our customers are telling us they love it.

Doesn't appear that they offer the new sleep service to SCL. Seems weird they offer to shorter flights but not one of the longest. Has anyone experienced SYD-SCL recently? WOuld love to know as flying there in 3 weeks.
