QF hanger numbers at SYD domestic

Just in J lounge and noticed the hanger numbers
131,191,245,271 across the Tarmac

I hope the QF bean counters weren't on the booze when numbering rights came up?

They are building numbers and the buildings are numbered in the order they are built.

Thats the general direction the pilot needs to fly in to land at that runway. So to land at runway 16, you need to fly roughly towards 160 degrees (I'm sure JB / markis would be able to state exact directions)

Runway numbers are based on compass headings. Runway 36, will be 360 degrees, runway 16, 160 degrees, and so on.

Spot on, given there is no postie airside the numbers are purely there for identifying buildings for deliveries and RFF purposes. People always seem to get geographically challenged at airports, it was a good lurk for a while when a local pizza place offered delivery in 30 minutes or its free for the area approach control centre at Sydney to order pizzas (under the old tower), they always went to the other side so were always late, no wonder we were banned from further orders after a while .

Runway numbers are based on compass headings. Runway 36, will be 360 degrees, runway 16, 160 degrees, and so on.

Not always, for instance Essendon and Melbourne have the same headings but Essendon was changed to avoid confusion with Melbourne (often by Garuda).

I own my company so ill lodge the complaint with the higher authority my plus1 who has come with me to Hong Kong on a double SC run which push her to WP
I told her I was taking her here for Valentines Day and the SC run was just a side outcome. Hee hee
