QF First Lounge in Singapore

Although, I would expect a QF WP+ would have no problem when flying BA (or QR, AY etc).

That earlier period when flights depart to Oz can be manic (so BA15 could be out of luck - but head to QR if seated in F/J). The later period for flights to Europe are quieter (and when QF F lounge closes, head to QR J anyway…😁).
Mrsdrron has been denied as a QF WP flying F with BA on BA15. So I couldn't go in either as a BA gold.
So we use the BA lounge. Don't like the Concorde lounge with no windows. Food is actually the same but you serve yourself in the ordinary lounge but bring it to you in the Concorde lounge. However I always help myself to more satays than the number they bring you in the Concorde lounge.

Report on FlyerTalk of BA,Gold being denied tonight.

However, they have 2 QF2 coming through this evening so not surprising.
That’s an interesting decision seeing as the previous day’s QF2 (delayed 28 hours) won’t arrive until 8:30pm, which is 2.5 hours after today’s scheduled arrival. Also worth noting that today’s QF1 has been delayed 25 hours until tomorrow, so those passengers wont be utilising the lounge this evening.

I’d have thought they’d be able to accommodate their usual complement.

On a side note, QF’s LHR ops have been a deplorable nightmare in the last few days due to a multitude of aircraft maintenance issues.

Add the fact QF82 SIN-SYD is an A380 today as well...... so 3x QF A380s (VH-OQB,VH-OQH,VH-OQI) all on their way to SYD within a few hours of each other tonight.

Would QF WPs flying BA have preference over BA Golds on the same flight?

You would think not given the way lounge funding works, but I guess QF might want to keep its own members onside.

Not a surprise. End of many winter holidays in Aus so lots of kids (where QF is pretty generous). Add an extra A380 load and I think an upgraded QF82 from 330 to 380 and I suspect all lounges were crazy tonight.

I and +1 visited the Sin F lounge around 4pm last month flying Mh in Y...when we replied we have never been before, we were given and enthusiastic tour of the almost empty lounge...the staff had great pride in the lounge and the lady mannng the showers did her best to try and get me to checkout the showers ...I declined as I only had a shower at the hotel an hour or so prior....the service in the lounge was absolutely outstanding, much better than Syd, Mel and Lax, not that they were bad!

I was in the lounge last night. Arrived around 6pm and it wasn't too busy. Starting filling up but certainly wasn't at capacity (unless they want to ensure a 'spacious' feel). Was quite impressed with it although I would prefer a few more western items on the menu.

QF SIN F Lounge - dining menu early July

Had the Plant based dining - roasted portobello mushroom with soft polenta and corn and basil salsa. It was good. The spinach was also well done. The dish as a whole was a bit bland, asked for some fresh chilli and it hit the spot :)

Was lucky enough to visit twice this week and try a number of dishes (after being unlucky enough to have a flight cancelled). Menu was the same as posted above.

All food was excellent, as was the service. Champagne being served was Taittinger Brut Reserve if I recall correctly.

I had the Laksa and Club sandwich when I was there 2 weeks ago, connecting from QF2 to QF4025 (JL36).

I ate the food a bit too quickly and ended up a little sick. :oops:o_O

I was on a late QF38 service and we got talking about what the lounge could offer in terms of the comforts of home.

Milo is obviously hugely popular in Singapore, but the staff weren't aware that generations of Australians have grown up on the stuff also. I suggested to Hun-Li that maybe as part of the service before very late night flights (i.e. QF1/QF38) that they might consider doing a tray service of warm Milos - sort of a "get you ready for bed" type drink. I felt that, just like Vegemite and Tim Tams, there would be a bit of an emotional connection for many pax with being offered a warm cup of Milo before bed. She was totally enamoured with the idea and promised me she'd take it up internally.

When I was back in the lounge last month they let me know that a new Milo dessert was on the way, explaining that, in Singapore, a Milo Dinosaur is when you put crunchy floaties on the top of your Milo drink. I explained to them that in Australia, we generally just call that a Milo, and that people even eat it by the spoonful directly out of the tin!
