I would imagine the opening hours of the lounge may be more of an issue than QF changing the rules.

I would assume they will match the current QF SIN lounge hours no? Qantas would collect a tidy entry fee from BA/MH/UL/JL if their OWE pax use this lounge, wouldn't they?

Possibly behind the DNata lounge?

Thetr isn't much space on the D-side due to upstairs restaurants and the airside hotel.

Great news! QF should have anticipated this before switching back to flying the A380 to SIN but nice to hear they are going to take action.

I'm sure they anticipated it, but why hold off making network changes while you spend 2 years on working on a new lounge?

What's currently in the space where the old Cathay/Skyview lounge was?
The old T1 CX lounge was a joint lounge for CX and Dnata. CX pulled out of that lounge (but retained access) long bef0re they moved to T4.

It looks like the oneworld lounges in T1 are about to get busier. QR is moving from T2 to T1 this weekend.

Far too late, but very welcome news.

Undoubtedly the quality of the existing lounge will take a dive southward after the new lounge opens.

yeah I know technically we have access...but wouldn't surprise me if QF changes the rules

I would almost certainly book some 3K if they didn't, but IMHO they really should change the rules as JQ isn't even a OneWorld Connect member at this stage!

It's the only direct option for some folk - e.g. DRW.

Great news - though I'm intrigued to understand what (if any) concessions will be made to the statement "the new First Lounge will be designed to suit the specific needs of transit travellers" over the needs of passengers commencing their journey in SIN. *Greater* number of showers over some other usual feature ... ?

Has QF really reduced me to the level of such cynicism and doubt on "double speak"??

Regards,

BD
Cynicism though in this case, could/would be appropriate with the wordings they use in that blurb above.
They might make this new SIN transit lounge like the current one at PER int T3, where you have to really be in transit from LHR to (PER) to MEL to use it.

Well I did not predict this. Good on QF.

Given the terminal setup I can’t imagine this just being for transit pax. Has to be for all.

Provide some extra crumbs. Keep everyone happy. Keep everyone striving for that elusive lounge access.
