QF/EK joint pricing goes live.

We have been working closely with Emirates to develop a joint pricing proposition for the joint network. From 5 April 2013, Qantas and Emirates will commence sale of its joint pricing proposition for Australia Point of Sale.

Qantas and Emirates have coordinated tariffs and fare conditions for sale and travel from 5 April 2013 on the following routes:

• Australia to the United Kingdom (Economy Cabin only);
• Australia to Europe (Economy Cabin only);
• Australia to the Middle East (all Cabins); and
• Australia to Bangkok (all Cabins).

Travel Agents will be able to see the new Qantas and Emirates fares in their GDS from Friday, 5 April 2013.

Qantas and Emirates will continue to work towards extending this joint pricing proposition to other routes and cabins.

Here's hoping they sort out the J fares soon. I'm holding off booking my next trip to the UK to see what happens, otherwise I'll go via HKG on CX/BA

Interesting...have just run some dummy bookings on both QF and EK.

Itineraries were as follows:

6SEP13 - 13SEP13: MEL-CDG
QF app. $2700 return
EK app. $2000 return

6DEC13 - 13DEC13: SYD - DUS
QF app. $2500 return
EK app. $3190 return

Based on that small sample, I'd say either the pricing is not yet live or there is still some work to be done

In addition to the coordinated tariffs released on 16 April, Qantas and Emirates will now also have coordinated tariffs and fare conditions for sale and travel from 30 April 2013 on the following routes:

• Australia to the United Kingdom (Premium Cabins)
• Australia to Europe (Premium Cabins)
• Australia to Singapore (all Cabins)
• Australia to Kuala Lumpur (all Cabins)

The flights from MEL-KUL on EK, or even MEL-SIN-KUL(3K) seem more expensive now than before.
Also the MH (SIN-KUL) option is no longer there for the random date searches I performed only EK or 3K.
