QF Double Status Credits (SC) offer for all :)

Currently sitting on 10 SCs and as I already have LTG the only point of this promotion for me is to use it to earn 1190 SCs before 31 Dec or not bother. So, I'm debating with myself how much WP is worth to me, and whether I'm better off giving my money to the int airlines that actually fly to ADL.

Not sure yet which side is winning, but I still have 2 days to decide.

Going to be a busy day Wednesday here too.

If i have a flight in credit (ie cancelled from last yr), that I need to use by july 20 or at least book, Im guessing that is not eligible for this promo? I'm not sure but I have a feeling it would still retain the original Booking ref number? Anyone have experience with rebooking flights in credit?

I was going to get to SG anyway this year before the DSC offer came up and had decided I would only consider trying for WP if a double SC offer came up and it has. Booked my first Status Run. Need to book another 20SCs (40SCs after getting the DSC bonus) to get to WP.

Need to decide whether to book a status run for my next membership year to try to retain WP. At this stage I'm reluctant to do that as if work trips cut back then I may need to do additional SC runs without DSC to retain it. I could have booked a SC run for my next membership year to help retain SG but with WP this year I would still fall off SG down to PS at the same time (if I fail to retain) so doing the run this year was the better choice.

Correct. There is anecdotal evidence that one could get QFF to manually credit if you can prove the FLIGHTS were booked during this promo period but it's not set in stone, and RR's answer earlier seems to confirm this.

We are SG heading to WP in July and were looking to travel to the US next year anyway, so DSC for J MEL-SYD-LAX would have us retain SG in one trip (2x440 SC), plus a short SR in the US will retain WP. However, just checking the airfares across the Pacific..... ouch! This Mar we did AU-JFK via LAS in J return for $6.2k each, but for Mar 2017 J MEL-SYD-LAS-LAX-SYD-MEL airfare is over $8k.

As an indication of the relatively expensive prices during DSC offer period for certain routes:

I paid $5200 in January for a SYD-MEL-LAX return in Dec (no DSC). = $11.8 per SC.

That $5,200 would've been on a J sale. If they had those kinds of prices with a DSC offer for MEL-LAX a few months ago I probably would have jumped on it.

Still you get a better $ per SC with DSC than you would for sale fares with no DSC in most cases.

Well I'll take advantage of the offer, although I should get to SG by my renew date Jan 2017 with next to no hope of reaching WP the double credit status will be gratefully accepted towards LTG (currently 11.6k) every bit helps!

Yes, I agree: we're intending to book anyway and it's a business trip so Scott and Malcolm will help defray some of the pain.

It was less to go PER-SYD-LAX-JFK than stopping in LAX. It was 1440 SCs for the return in J with the double SCs applied at $7823 with stops. Have registered for the upgrade fairy to work her magic.
I paid with a CC that gives two points per dollar because I could.

Well they certainly won't now.

Sorry if it is a silly question - my husband and I have registered for the double SC points offer. I am about to make a booking for both of us - I tried ringing Qantas but the waiting time is over 1 hr.

I wanted to make sure that if I make the booking for both of us then we will both get double SC points. Obviously I will add both our FF numbers to the booking.

Is this a fair assumption? Thanks

Just booked Syd-Lhr (Qf)-Vie (Ba) rtn in J for Mar / Apr next year. ..easy 1200 SCs just there :)
ps: this trip will also take me to LTG!

Did you both receive and register for the DSC offer? If so and you enter an eligible QFF number then yes. It will only apply to the flyer who QFF number is entered into the booking. You cannot enter your number for your husband's booking and get DSC's for him

Actually I don't think that's correct. My understanding is that all PAX in a booking can receive doubles SCs provided they have also registered for the offer.

So long as each passenger in the same booking has registered prior to booking:

Each passenger in the same booking must register to qualify for this bonus offer.
