QF Double Status Credits (SC) offer for all :)

T&C seem to address this situation.
...
So I read 2 things - as long as flights are between April 28 and April 16, 2017 they qualify
if you somehow had a booking (or changed it) to say leave on 15 April 2017 and return on 18 April 2017, the outbound sector(s) would count, but not the inbound.
...

From your quote of the terms
If you change or cancel your initial qualifying booking and/or travel is completed outside the promotional period, this bonus offer will not apply

My reading is that the "or" in the "and/or" removes the qualification of the flight with the changed dates.

It would be clear if the terms read:
If you cancel your initial qualifying booking OR change (the flight dates of) your initial qualifying booking and travel is completed outside the promotional period, this bonus offer will not apply

RedRoo - Time to clarify this PLEASE

To permit happy wandering

Fred

PS: the consensus on Flyertalk is:
I would expect that flight changes after 4 May would disqualify an originally qualifying flight.

Little disappointed that QF coded JQ flights aren't included. Looking at going to KUL via SIN from MEL and it's QF to SIN and 3K to KUL on a QF code.

Direct extract from the Ts and Cs for this promo: "This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other bonus offer by Qantas." Does that include the Double POINTS promotion offered about a month ago, for which I registered and booked flights I needed to book anyway? Or is it specific to SCs?

If a flight qualifies for multiple offers then the first one you registered for will apply.

Thanks for the suggestion on the vouchers. I've bought some today and will probably get some more to get up to the 4-5 amount of vouchers. Depending on the success others find in getting the SCs I may hold one in reserve as long as I can in case another international work trip comes up in the qualifying period.

Sorry. Should clarify that I was trying to work out if flights I book between now and 4th May will qualify for double points or SCs, given that I registered for the points offer first and I would be flying within both offers' travel periods. However, since the points promotion had a different booking period which has now expired, any new flights should qualify for double SCs, which is good as SCs are of more value to me. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Looking at booking BNE LAX on a Business Sale fare in Aug/ Spet for $51xx to take advantage of DSC.

However can't find details of how long this sale fare will be available.

Current promos show fare will be $8000+

Can anyone point me to a page wher this information exists?

those deep discount fares were pre DSC. The prices went up at the same time as the DSC offer. Expect to pay full price during DSC offer period

That's correct. What's not allowed is to apply multiple offers to the one flight (first relevant one registered for is the one that applies). Since any new flights you book won't qualify for the old offer that isn't an issue.

Sorry for this stupid question - Does it matter if you book through the normal website or through the business direct site? ie will I still qualify for the SC if I book Aquire deal flights? I'm assuming yes, bt grateful for the collective wisdom.

I am not convinced this was the right way to go about it.

Airfares are at their highest levels in 10-15 years.

Qantas has stopped discounting during holiday periods until very late in the piece. These cover about 1/3 of the year. I am not going to pay $155 each way for BNE-SYD for 4 flights around Christmas/New Year. I am going to wait until the flight is offered for $89/$99 as in previous years.

I know it only involves a small percentage but people are holding off booking flights waiting for next SCs bonus offer. These offers have become too predictable.

Fair point. I think we need to distinguish (as was suggested to me recently in a CC thread) between avgeeks like us who chase these offers and the general public though.

If Qantas' objective is to bring recurrent spending forward to get a cash advance - (AFFers using this offer, for example) - and encourage people to chase status by buying flights they wouldn't otherwise - then this is a good offer.

Shifting, rather than increasing, spending patterns could well be the objective.

On the other hand I'm personally, for example, considering buying seats I know would be cheaper on sale, but most likely won't be during this offer period. One would imagine that QF, if smart, would remove most discount offers during the DSC promo.

Yes, but the double points promo had a week or so IIRC booking period much like this does.. so any new booking would not qualify for the DP promo, but would for DSC.
