QF Double Status Credits February 2026 Promo

And for those playing along at home....

Good point! Now updated with additional options 😁

Excellent, I look forward to politely linking to this when the FAQs are asked
I think this post by @DejaBrew should be given its own thread and pinned!

It's actually really helpful info for newbies (and not so newbies). I know I have asked some of these questions myself in the past and I am still working out how to reschedule a screening of Fight Club for a different cinema. I think I am not alone in this....

I have just this minute booked J tickets for Christmas in UAE with Seat Son as follows:

QF1525 CBR-MEL
QF37 MEL-SIN (just transit, no stop this time)
QF8353 SIN-DXB, with 2 weeks in UAE then
QF8253 DXB-CPH, with 2 weeks in Europe then
QF8180 WAW-DXB, with 2 weeks in UAE then
QF8372 DXB-BKK, with 2 days in BKK and then home
QF24 BKK-SYD
QF1435 SYD-CBR

This will yield 1020 SC (counting the QF metal legs only for DSC). And the quirk of fares to UAE continues - this priced out at ~$12,100 each. CBR-DXB return via SYD was $11,997. So for an extra ~ $100, I will get an extra 580 SC, plus extra FF points, plus visit a couple of cool new countries (Poland and Denmark). Crazy but someone has to do it, right! I am so excited as everyone know how much I love visiting Seat Son, and the UAE is kind of growing on me as a destination.

Also booked a return flight to see the family on the Gold Coast for May-June, and that (along with PC DSC from last offer on my award flight in April home from JNB from Seat Son's wedding) will meet the WP requal for me for my next membership year (so WP until March 2028). Mr Seat 0A will also be there after we take our trip to MEL in June using a DSC booking from the last DSC offer.

I was going to book for Japan for early 2027, but the finish date of the DSC being 12 Feb is a bit early for us to return. I checked and bookings are not even open past 11 Feb at this particular moment. So I took note of the prices, and if there are still reasonable fares available on 2 March for return dates later in Feb, I will also book Japan even though only the flights over will get DSC. If not I will wait for a sale - although last year I watched this fare for a very long time and no real sales on J to Japan - understandable given how popular Japan seems to be at the moment.

As we are unlikely to make P1, it isn't worth pushing any more travel at the moment.

In 2027/2028, I am going to start looking into the DONEx options as by then I should have enough time to do something spectacular with these.

I've previously posted that fares will likely rise when a DSC comes along. I'll come clean and note that on the couple of routes I was pricing a week ago, the fares are much the same earlier today. (but one of them has gone by late arvo).

My experience too as I had worked out my complicated UAE/Europe requirements last week and the fare difference between now and then was less than $50, likely because I changed a flight leg from the automatically suggested one so that I avoided the 0345 flight to BKK when there was a perfectly acceptable 0930 flight šŸ˜†.

Japan flights also reasonably priced - actually cheaper than I paid last year by a few hundred dollars, although I don't know what these were last week as I did not look.

Overall, I'm glad I worked out my complex flights last week without time pressure so I could just run it today once the DSC dropped.

A lot of the popular NZ status run routes that still had sale fares seem to have been quickly snapped up overnight as I'd priced out a number of them within the last few days. Thankfully there are still some occasional options but they're a bit harder to build out.

Just a shame the excellent $299 SYD-MEL J fares ended before DSC.

I need positioning flights and am debating whether to buy why for $185 (20SCs), or whY classic award for $57 (14 SCs) or J classic $80 (36 SCs). On a cost per SC the J award is the best value BUT it is alot of point for a very short flight.

I want to earn status credits but I am time poor to do flying - can I ask if I can pay someone on my account to fly for me, so I can earn the required status credits please?
Who is on your QF account?

As of quote my QF number and you go fly.
I don't mind donating enough $ for the status, just don't want myself to waste time flying.

I remembered at one episode of The Chaser on the ABC, they used fictional names to book for flights and the gate attendant even pages for it?
