QF Double Status Credits February 2026 Promo

Done - 4x SIN - SYD return booked for family visits; very reasonable sales fares on the SYD - DRW - SIN milk-run return leg, getting 1 SC down to SGD 4.2. Happy! Gold retained - not aiming for Platinum given that I spend most of my time on CX metal and the Pier J lounge plus CX hospitality does it for me :)

I must have missed it, but what happened to free seat selection as QF Gold??? As QF Gold on CX, I can always select an extra legroom seat at no cost... What an enhancement...

Once I have activated the offer on Qantas.com, can I book tickets on trip.com and earn DSC?
Thanks.

Welcome to the new era of SGs going to the back of the bus after being gazumped by Qantas plus seat fees

No need to be nervous about it as you're doing absolutely nothing wrong. The reality is that Border Force may flag your travel pattern and ask for more info, but as mentioned by @1A Please they'll ultimately wave you through without issue. As a data point, see the post below for what happened to me during my 3 x back-to-back OOL>AKL return trips over 4 days last September. Your single return trip will barely raise an eyebrow.

Doesn't relate to a specific status run flight but during 2019 when I was doing return trips to China monthly (literally 12 trips that year back and forth), I got grilled upon arrival in Melbourne mid-way through the year. "Who paid for your flights?", "What are you doing there?" etc etc,. I explained my role and that they are all business trips paid for by the business and asked the guy directly if there was a problem that needed sorting, he just said no, all good and off I went. Haven't been pulled aside since so I doubt a same day or short turn over return flight will raise any red flags, if there's no pattern to raise suspicions.

Count me as another that has done status runs to AKL x 3, no issues at all at either end, never left the airport, no questions asked.
I did book a run this morning, but decided to canx, as gold will suffice for now.

Just made my booking, will be an interesting first status run. Had to split the NZ trip into 2 tickets.
MEL-SYD-CHC wasn't the best value at $4.64 / SC but the crazy return routing of CHC-SYD-AKL-BNE-MEL came out at $2.90/SC which I was pretty happy with.
Overall $3.41/SC and will get me to platinum which will be great for some international trips planned for next year.

115 flights to go from Bronze to P1? Pfft. Rookie attempt 😜

What an amateur, AFFers clearly knows that you only need 114 flights.

But yes I would be surprised if most knew they'd be doing that much flying that far in advance. Unless of course there was a burning desire to check out the Qantas Museum a lot.

Registered but not likely to book at this stage. Will keep an eye on things though (still have a voucher from the last offer).

Good run recommendation. Are you retaining or earning WP? Calculating SC earn, this gets approx 880 SC only, isn't it?

Anyone kept a track of how much fares have increased for this DSC promotion?

Locked in my usual MCY-SYD-AKL J return for about $1900 on leftover sale fares (about 3.95 per SC), which is very similar to previous years. That was the same as when I checked a couple of days ago. A few MCY-MEL-AKL seats for a couple hundred dollars more on the outbound.

There are very few of these left, especially via MEL, and they were evaporating on the days I checked. As usual, the golden rule of DSC runs is "early birds get cheap worms".

Cheers skip

May be this is a thing? The register for DSC promo registration link doesn't show on my iPhone QF app homepage. I think it's because I have a flight today and the real estate is taken over by the flight details and boarding pass. Will check after the flight and see if the registration link for the promo appears on the app homepage.

Earning WP, Already have 530SC from recent travel to the US mainly. This trip should earn me 860SC and push me over the loyalty bonus for another 50SC.

Looking through the FAQ section after registering, the use of gift cards is listed as being acceptable.
For those who can't schedule flights 6 months in advance,
Anything to help the wandering.

Is this another fight club like situation (yes or no will do 😎)

I get that it’s QF metal but from OP’s post it’s, booked and ticketed by AA, so not on 81- stock. So not a QF CR that would be eligible for points club SCs.
The first rule of fight club ;)

Sometimes the system does funny things 😂

Typically if I have nothing planned I spend a weekend in NZ on these DSC promotions. But also looking at somewhere to go over NY which is always expensive.... but getting double SC's help. The last few years have been trips in J to the South Pacific over NY and they've been good fares and better with DSC's... I'll have to do some thinking. Maybe I should do both!

Overnight in CHC ?

Total cost if I can ask ?

I need to book something soon before the cheap seats go :D
