QF Double Status Credits February 2026 Promo

So i though this would be a good opportunity to use Amex Qantas Ultimate $450 credit BUT the flights I want aren't available, for whatever reason I can't book anything past 20 Jan 27 on Amex travel :(

Re @TheInsider post: leveraging DSC one should be able to get to P1 with a lot fewer than 115 flights. Using domestic and trans-Tasman only it would be possible with just 30 flights ($14.5k) and Im sure there are even better ways.

Something interesting that staff got in their daily email. Was that anyone here?!

115 flights to go from Bronze to P1? Pfft. Rookie attempt 😜

Does the booking need to originate from Australia for DSC? I thought this was a requirement previously but can’t see this in the current promo.

I had a potential booking on QF that I was going to wait for a DSC/DP promo to book, but I found a better alternative so booked that instead.

Nothing else planned 😅

Did you need an overnight in AKL ?

I can't find anything less than $2500ish for these flights, and most of them push me back to Y for MEL-SYD and BNE-MEL :(
Staying 2 nights for mini holiday. Leave MEL Friday morning then onto QF145. Come back on QF126 Sunday.

Booked via normal booking page inputting MEL-AKL return Business and scroll down for Sydney route.

Someone needing 115 DSC flights to reach P1 cannot be an AFF reader.
Assuming they went from 0SC to 3600SC and P1, that's an average of just over 31SC/flight after DSC has been awarded. So in effect, they've likely booked 115 domestic flights earning between 10-20SC. Fully appreciate some here on AFF will do similar for their normal work travel, but for anyone explicitly using this promo to go from NB, that's a hard slog to reach P1 under DSC!!

Or, it could be someone doing legitimate travel and not booking status runs for the sake of gaining, or holding onto a specific tier?
Possible, but to go from being NB and not doing anywhere near enough travel to warrant the earning of any status with Qantas to suddenly doing 115 flights for legit business travel (the bookings for which just happen to coincide with a DSC promo) would make you one hell of an outlier. Sure they might do this travel normally with VA, but still....

Anyway, we digress....

Haha. This was in the can long before VA decided to offer an extra massive 125 SC 😂
Hazard a guess the QF DSC promo was due to be announced during the Half Yearly update on Thursday. VA’s announcement may have brought it forward. Could be Nick Rohrlack’s doing.

Booked Mel->BNE->AKL->BNE->Mel return in Business saver for $2100 giving me 580 SCs.

to save on hotel accommodation, I am coming back on the same flight in Auckland so have a 6-hour layover. Hopefully it doesn't draw suspicion with the immigration department for why such a quick turnaround.

From my experience, our Kiwi friends won't care. It's the Australian Border Force who'll be more interested ;)

You mat not even need to use NZ immigration:

Anyone kept a track of how much fares have increased for this DSC promotion?
Strangely, some have come down.

SYD-MEL “Red-E” whY fare at the moment is $195 (Sale is often ~$139) but I can see flights for $185…. Also J for $589 when the “Deals” page is > $1k…🤷‍♂️

I'm sitting this one out, although I'm feeling conflicted doing so.

I've retained Platinum this year so I have status through to the end of July 2027. I've opted against spending my own money to push for P1, given my business travel has dropped off significantly (I've yet to board a plane this year...) and I have no personal travel plans.

Spending $8.5k of my own money to become P1 for the benefit of 'being' P1 through to the end of July 2027 and then dropping down to Platinum for August 2027 to July 2028, isn't worth the hit to my savings when I'm flying significantly less than I used to.
