Whilst I am familiar with the international upgrade system and upgrades for Plats being processed at T-48 and later I have had no experience with the new domestic upgrade system.

I have a couple of flights - ADL-DARWIN and DARWIN-SYD later this week where the upgrade is registered.

Has anyone had experience with the domestic upgrade registration.

The website is a bit quiet on when (and if at all) they will be processed.

Does anyone know how this works?

Not sure how it works, but it worked for me. I was notified by text message at something greater than T-80 that the upgrade (SYD-PER on a 747!) was successful.
