That's correct about the absence of a J lounge, mores the shame. But at least we'll have the benefit of the new card/check in trial to look forward to.....:evil:

QF stated that PER would get a J lounge, but there's been no further talk of it. Perhaps it will come, although they'd need to build another one as the existing QP is already filled to bursting too often (and they couldn't easily tack a J lounge on upstairs there either!)

It would still be filled with hi-viz and thongs due to the number of Plat members from the mine shuttles.

I was in the SYD QP on the 01/01 and there was someone who has wearing a wife beater (aka, blue singlet that has seen better days), pair of rugby shorts that were at least 10 years old (and both had holes the size of golf balls throughout) and a pair of thongs that look like he'd found on the beach. This guy looked like something out of Cast Away. That was a little bit too relaxed IMO.

Personally;
shirt, without holes/torn
shorts, without holes/torn to shreds
Would be a little bit too relaxed. But, that's just me, so please don't shoot me down for that. I understand that ALOT (l would say, at least 80%) of people get QF SG or WP through work travel, but l paid for my QP (through work corp scheme) and if l paid for something l expect that QF would at least have standards. I don't mind if people have "Hawaiian” shirts or "loose" standards, but don’t let people in that look like they crawled out of a garbage bin.

I will be in the SYD Domestic J Lounge this arvo wearing a Polo Shirt, Khahki Shorts and HP sandals. I'm dressed similarly every week - i have never had the lounge staff say anything untoward. I have worn the same to the F Lounge flying to ADL on QF81. I wear a suit/biz casual during work hours - what i wear after hours is my choice.

In fact - i have had an opup (day of 1st sand storm) given by the domestic J lounge staff and two on QF81 given by the F check in staff at SYD.

I'm with ejb & munitalP - wear what makes you comfortable as long it doesn't offend anyone.

Hmmm, So, if "Polo Shirt, Khahki Shorts and HP sandals." was to offend someone, would you be happy to not wear that to the lounge?

if they can show cause as to why my clothing would cause them to "cause displeasure, anger, resentment..." - yes....

So long as not wearing socks with the sandals! That would be certain to offend :p

1. I'm not from Queensland ;)
2. The dress police at home (aka wife) does get final approval before i leave home.

So no socks.
