I'm planning to fly domestic MEL to BNE with QF, then VA internationally from BNE leaving 1pm.
Booking the 7:10am flight to BNE, gets me there at 9:20am - if things go smoothly I should have 3.5 hours to make the transfer in BNE. Is this enough or cutting it too fine?
I thought it would be ok until I heard of 3+ hour delays today and yesterday for many QF domestic flights.
In those circumstances would Qantas try to move people with international connections on to earlier flights if asked, even if the connecting flight was with another airline? Or is it futile unless with a partner carrier.
Only reason I'm thinking of flying QF instead of VA is for the eligible segment to re-qualify for status.
Am I crazy. Should I just book with VA?
