QF Domestic Biz Lounges

Has anyone heard any more news on the new QF domestic biz lounges?

I remember they were meant to open in MAR/APRIL 2008???

As far as I know the lounges are due around mid-year in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane with work having commenced last month in Sydney and Melbourne. I haven't heard of/seen any work to date in Brisbane but that doesn't mean they haven't started yet.

I was at the Sydney T3 lounge last week and there is a large section closed off, including the old entry. The previous secondary entry/exit is now the QC entry. The old entry (the one currently closed off) will become the J/WP lounge entry.

From what I can see, the new Biz lounges aren't in particularly good positions... they seem to be in a box in the middle of the lounge, with no windows.

Nup, as posted else where the current boarded off area in SYD T3 is likely to be the new PC/Workstation area a' la ADL QP.

Once thats up and running, the entire area east of there will become the J/WP/Emerald lounge.

As for MEL, the North end has been closed off and will probably be combined with the CL area to become the new J lounge.

OK, it has been a few months since I have been on a plane (yes I was having withdrawals!) and have just been sent on my way - leaving this afternoon mind you - BNE-TSV-BNE for three days.

I easily re-qualified for WP during the last year (current years expires at the end of this month) and want to try out the new dom lounges at some stage. Have been in all CL's around the country and want to see if they compare.

Last time I was in BNE QP in Jan, there was no sign of the new "dom J lounge' that QF has been promising, and I was wondering if anyone has any info yet on when they will be opening?

Latest hints are mid-year I believe. The work in progress in SYD is quite obvious.

Well you'll spot the work this afternoon. They had the business centre (in the middle of the lounge) sectioned off earlier this year in order to open it up and, I think, to remove the meeting rooms. Now the work has moved to the runway side of the lounge which is becoming the new J/WP lounge. You will notice this is covered up just as you enter the lounge. I asked someone last week and the deal in BNE is that you will turn left for the regular QP and turn right for the J/WP lounge after entering.

ah yes - work has started. in QP as I am typing. no views out onto the tarmac though but neither does the CL.

I hope the weather is just as nice in Townsville as it is in Brisvegas today!

WOrk started about 6 weeks ago in Brisbane, turn right onentry and it will have windows and views over tarmac to where prop aircraft and Gate 16 are.
