Just having a bit of a look around and I notice that there is a QF1193 MEL-OOL on 23 November. Looks like it then returns to SYD that day as QF1194.

The reverse then happens the following Saturday as QF1193 is SYD-OOL and QF1194 is MEL-OOL.

Could it be there to test the waters of MEL-OOL services seeming as though SYD-OOL appear to be performing well? Whilst it is around schoolies and that might be a factor, I don't know many year 12 students prepared to drop that kind of coin (looks quite pricey).

Any thoughts?

Apologies if its already been discussed, did a quick search and didn't see anything else about it.

Good pick up!

Does seem a little odd, looks around the start time of schoolies to come from Melbourne as the last exam is around that week for VCE but the cost does seem a little over the top since no red e deals.

Any QF route expansion is to be welcomed!

My brother just flew there a fortnight ago with JQ, said never again. they arrived an hour an a half early for check in, no one there, check in opened up and then 20 minutes before the flight closed they started calling for the OOL flight, hundreds of people lined up for different flights and all pushing like sheep through a race

I'm guessing it's just a seasonal capacity relief service.

It would be nice if it were converted to a regular service, even if it were a once or twice daily / weekday service.

This has been discussed in another thread a while back . As mentioned it coincides with NSW & VIC Schoolies on the Gold Coast, but i would hazard a guess we will see the reintroduction of MEL-OOL services sometime in the not to distant future.

It would make sense to gradually see QF ramp up OOL as we get closer to the Commonwealth Games.
