QF Companion Sale

Seems like fares are available for quite a while into the future (December). Does anyone know if this is perennial thing that QF offer ex FRA? Looking to make a booking for later into 2011, so wondering if this is likely to be renewed ongoing.

I don't know about pre-2009, but the fare has been around since early 2009 and running almost non-stop ever since (from memory, it's only been taken off the Qantas Germany site for short periods of a month or so around peak AU travel dates (Christmas/New-Year) and leading into EU summer).

Not sure it's possible to predict future dates, but freight and passenger loads have taken a nose dive since the start of the GFC, and keep dropping. Add a good dose of economic inertia in Europe and uncertain Asian perspectives - I can't see the reasons for the drop in loads to go away any time soon. That has to weigh in favor of a repeat in the year ahead, at least for the foreseeable future.

On the other hand, loads have dropped so far that I'd have thought the route would be flagged for a capacity review. The lack of suitable spare lower-capacity A/C might be the only thing preventing that (thank god for delayed 787 production!).
