I am trying to book a couple of BA flts with QF pts and all is fine until I get to ’Confirm Passengers’ page when it continually throws up Generic Error - tried on iPad and Laptop but same same - am I doing something wrong?

No. It might be the flights aren’t actually available though? Can you cross reference on BA or AA?

QFF searches for BA are pathetic. If you search you'll find F listed as almost every day, some will even let you get quite far down the booking path, including quoting points and taxes, even entering pax details, only to say it can't confirm.

I've never seen so much Phantom availability ever. The seats are absolutely not available on BA or AA but QF gave somehow loaded them as they are.

A quick search on BA shows flts do exist and are bookable - seriously don’t want to have to call QF

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Are they bookable at the ‘off peak’ price? I dunno if the ‘peak’ vs ‘off peak’ affects how it translates to QFFF, it may not. Was just a thought as to why it might show on QF but not actually be bookable.

MEL I have no idea what peak / off peak is - can just see it is bootable on BA:

So you’ve got the revenue fares there. For award you’d need to log in to your BA executive account to see if there was availability, and if applicable, at the rate that other FF programs can book.

I’ve just logged in to my account and the flight you list on 2 June there are no BA award seats available on the nonstop, only via MAD with a combination of BA and IB or IB/IB.

(My reference above to whether the flights are bookable related only to award availability… QF could be showing phantom seats.)

I just logged into BA to check if I could use Avios on that day and on the 2nd June it isn't showing any available non stop flights - some via MAD

Oh ok - not aware I even have a BA account to login - I first saw these flts on Google Flights and just imagined if I saw them on QF as available then it should be achievable - a legacy of all those years of SQ R/F surety when it comes to booking - ‘see it then can book it’ - so I guess will just book J comm tix and be done with it 👍

Ordinarily yes, if you see flights on QF FF they should be bookable… but they sometimes scrape incorrect availability from other airlines… the seats could have sold out a few hours ago but the QF system hasn’t updated. This is fairly common across all FF programs when it comes to redeeming partner awards.

QF flights on QF metal are always available, just like SQ flights via KrisFlyer are always available. But when it comes to partner availability there are lots of factors at play that can sometimes lead to incorrect results coming up.

Not likely to apply to you but BA cheapest revenue Y has no baggage even with status

I had the same issue, generic error. I played the call Qantas call center game and when I finally managed to get through to the Australian call center it was booked and ticketed.
