That’s why we have journalists - to scratch below the surface, not just accept the press releases by Qantas about their “Probiotic infused menus” and Neil Perry name dropping.

But up till now very few sought to look beyond.

And the turbulence mitigation system?. Anyone report on what it really is?. Dig a little deeper or just accept it as fact?
Here is a bit of info:

Like so much in the media - if it sounds and feel good then it must be good.
We no longer have true journalists in the media.

Didn’t some radio shock jock get smacked for “ Cash for Comment”?. I suppose putting in “ Guest of” is a disclaimer. And while not cash it’s” business class seat for comment”

A lot of it should be under “ Sponsored Content” so the disclaimer is at the start not at end of article

Anyone a “guest” of the airline in Y or W?

Well QF10 was chockers. There might have been 6 empty seats, if that. So about as close to full capacity as you can get. I didn't see the luggage or cargo being loaded so can't comment on what was below the floor.

Did you read the review.
He was clearly a guest and hadn't paid for the ticket!
I didn’t see any disclamers - maybe I missed it?

The westward QF10 was actually shorter in time than an eastward QF8 DFW-SYD because of the prevailing winds so range anxiety would be less of an issue??

I don't suppose this will affect too many pax but:

"Previously, certain nationalities have been eligible to transit through Australia without a visa if their international connecting flight is in less than eight hours. Due to the location of international terminals in Perth, these customers will now be required to 'enter' Australia, and will require a visa."

But she's from the West Australian (also GT's employer). I'd take anything they publish with the proverbial grain. Every day last week there was a Qantas article.
Sure, hence "seemingly".

Report in today's newspaper indicates 10 unallocated (226/236) seats on the flight.

I wonder if that was deliberate?

I think they'd be bonkers not to give themselves some flexibility/ leeway on the first flight (first at least going that way). I reckon the cargo would have been light-ish as well.

Wouldn't want the good publicity spoiled by "my IFE didn't work for 17 hours and they didn't move me" or "had to divert to Meekatharra because of PER closure and fuel issue" stories.

These are not big guys but both are spilling into the aisle and Jessica, who has a slight frame, said the seats were narrow.

I wouldnt do QF Y on this plane if you gave me the seat for free.

Can I say again how I hate the PE foot calf rest thing, and I've never sat in them. Looks very uncomfortable and I also wonder how safe it is, having your calf rest on one hard surface for long periods.
