Hi everyone,
No specific question but i'm interested in people thoughts. Being in Adelaide we are (gradually) getting a much broader selection of ways to get out of Australia. What I find interesting is that QF don't seem interested in being part of this. with only 4 direct flights to Singapore each week (with unhelpful arrival times) they never really had much presence here anyway but I read the other day it'll be likely these flights will start going via Darwin to increase pax. Here's the thing though: SG are upping their services to (i think) 12 direct flights weekly, CX are starting a direct service and EK are going to be bring in a 3 class (including F) service direct to Dubai (which will i'm guessing be code shared with QF). Perhaps the EK push into Adelaide was part of a broader strategy alongside QF but even so it feels like QF are missing an opportunity. Why is it QF can't (or don't want to) profit from providing a decent service into asia? SG, EK and CX by their commitment to Adelaide are suggesting it can be done. Personally (at least when paying $) I fly Y and I can't find much difference between the 3 carriers so QF would get my pick if only they had daily direct flights. I've noticed rumors that QFi might pull out of perth too? It seems so strange the "national" carrier can only have success from the eastern capitals.
