As in above, I dont carry a laptop, only 2 cheapish smartphones.
Finding it hard to keep QF QR code BP in phone memory to scan at gate.
Sometimes it offers to send BP or SMS.
Is awardwallet basic the only (free) way?
Apart from going to a QF airport serve your self kiosk, as a last resort... after already doing OLCI but just to get domestic BP.

Using your cheapish smartphone
1. Take a screen shot and save in the photos
2. Download the Qantas app and access your pass from within your bookings
3. Save the pass in your wallet on the smartphone.
4. Do the checkin on the QF app on your phone and either access the QR code there or send it via a text message and use it from there

3. Save the pass in your wallet on the smartphone.

Saving the BP to a wallet is only possible in iOS I believe - or at least I've never seen the option on Android. The Android QFF app does work well for displaying the boarding pass regardless of whether checked in via phone, computer or kiosk at the airport - the boarding pass has always appeared in my experience.

Another option is to show a physical QFF card at the gate. It doesn't matter if the card has expired as the barcode they scan doesn't change between membership years.

Yes correct, I had forgotten that one. Doesnt have to be an actual card as the one in the QF app works as well.

Do a screen grab, that way the QR code is saved as an image in your photo roll.
If you do the screen shot, make sure it shows the date of the flight on the bottom of the Boarding Pass. The cabin crew need to see that when you board the flight, to make sure you're supposed to be travelling. I've been caught out a couple of times.

The only time electronic boarding pass has disappeared from my QF app is when there are flight delays and you board after original departure time. If there are weather/other delays I go and print a paper boarding pass from the self serve terminal, it saves time, although screen shot should work.

That said Google Pay can store some boarding passes, the JQ boarding passes from my flights in January are still available in Google Pay (under expired passes) - so one would hope QF could sort out the same. As I have had bag drop on last few QF flights I've found it easy to just print a paper boarding pass whilst printing bag tags (i still dont trust QTags).

Seems the system with my phone, cheapish smartish one, is that it wants data or wifi to keep the QFd QR code on the screen via email, of the face of the phone.
I had tried to find the way to screen shot, nothing worked, no 3 little dots to save to home screen.
I had to email the check in BP to myself, on the phone, and then, only with data open, (lucky my data is 42 days use all you want), and not per mb to keep open.
But each time I experimented by turning data off, (I no longer have a pocket wifi device), so sad, no BP.
Also, that 3 little dots would not appear on the BP, ...
Anyway, lesson learnt.
Screenshot, also did not work, how many times I tapped the QR image, nothing happened.
Also, as I was on the road, QF asked the answers to that 3 questions, to log in, lucky I kept a piece of paper with answers, and then, the system had the gall to send me an email of "unusual log in activity, is it you" tap ok if it is, all good I guess, at least we know when/if scammers are trying their way to get in.
I also did try to get a paper BP at a serve yourself kiosk at BNE QFd after having done OLCI, but it couldn't find me when I typed my name onto the screen, asks for last name first, then first name, no luck.
Also, the QF BNEd security check now follows the international screening way, ie, face sideways, with hands out at waist level, very different to the ADL dom screening, where its just walk through.
Last time I passed BNE QFd, it was face ahead walkthrough.
Ok, thanks everyone, learn new things all the time.

On an Android phone, to take a screenshot, hold down the power button and the down volume button at the same time. It will then save the image in the Screenshot folder.
But the easiest way by far, is to use your Frequent Flyer card at the gate. They will give you your shopper-docket like boarding pass to get on the flight.

Poochie - your phone is unable to run the QF App? That is by far the simplest way to manage these things than convoluted emails, screen shots and the like.

I am shocked you would not use the QF app as standard? It's not that bad :)

No, its not like that.
Waffly:
When flying out on QF from ADL, I have always used the paper BP, ie print at home.
While coming back to ADL, it has usually been go to a kiosk to print paper BP (after having done OLCI), at the airport, or use the bar code on my QFF/QTMcard after having done OLCI.
This time though, I didn't take along the QFF/QTMcard, as I have some money on it to pay a utility bill, and didn't want to lose the card.
I knew I could do OLCI, and had the 3 answers to the secret question noted, but have not really chased up to use the QFF app.
With VFF OLCI, I have had the QR code stick, even without having data, as its on the home screen, easy to put it there.
Guess with QFF, they are really pushing us towards the app.
Surprised that when I typed my name into the kiosk at BNE QFd terminal, my name didn't want to come up.
Anyway, next flight might be a QFi J probably via BNE to AKL/CHC/WLG, and come back to Aust with (Air)NZ.
Maybe ZQN in Jul next year to keep my QFF points alive.
Waffly (end).
