Hi All

This topic had been discussed many, many times.

Almost all comments had been directed to rows 12/13 esp. E/F seats.

But what about the main cabin itself (rows 15-22) ?

What would be your preference and why ?

BTW, I am travelling solo this time so personally I'd go for an E/F seat.

Closer to the front but ... what about the risk of screaming little ones ?

Towards the back, but why ?

Your thoughts ?

Thanks

Travelled with SWMBO in 18A/B once (after getting the shaft from 11K upon boarding due to the need of another PAX for a medical power source).

Look, the seat was fine, with side storage and all - but it was 'busier' in that part of the cabin than those up front.

just a personal choice..i'd take row 22 (as everyone goes forward to the loo..even on the new config its human nature to go forward to find a loo!!!!)...even as a solo traveller i'd choose A/K seats..the side bins are very handy ..and i've found getting past your seatmate to go to the loo or go for a walk or whatever isnt an issue for me!!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts

BTW, my Fido also walks / runs forward to find his spots during his morning walks !

Just a light note, nothing serious !

Thanks

lol ... i suppose when any creature is 'focused' on the task....they go forward to find relief!!

Had 18EF from SIN to LHR on QF9 with SWMBO after QF1 got delayed 3 hrs in SYD, I found it very busy compared to 11/12/13

The closer up front you are, generally the quicker you are being served with meals.

Furthermore, when meal trolleys are out and you are at the back, it blocks the aisle to gain access to the lavatories. I have been directed by crew to use the Y+ lavatories in two instances and I could feel the stares from Y+ passengers.

If you can't get into Emerald City rows 11-13, then I prefer to be in the exit row of the last mini cabin. It felt much more spacious.

Got it, thanks

As I mentioned earlier, we all know that the EC (Emerald City) seats are better, esp E/F ones.

The thrust of this conversation is to further delineate the main cabin seats - if there is such a differentiation.

Some posts here claimed there is no difference except maybe row 16 (bassinette etc...).

"Exit row of the last mini cabin" - I am unclear there.

Are you referring to row 22, the last row in J ?

Thanks

it depends on the configuration you are flying.

The original QF A388 configuration has two rows (24&25) forming a mini cabin at the back of business class.

The new configuration is lacking these seats and business ends at row 22.

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

Earlier this year in March I think I was J LAX-SYD in Seat 25A and thought it was pretty good. The only downside was that everyone else gets fed before you (isn't a big deal for me). Other than that though the mini cabin at the back which is only two rows deep was really quiet because behind you is Y+ who have their own toilets and everyone in the main cabins in front go forward. So for me I really liked the far back left and if I were to do the flight again, or any other flight with the same configuration I would do it the same.

Cheers, and hope that helps.

I have had the exact same thing happen to me!!!!

Avoid row 15 or 16 that's just too close to the galley/noise/light/people/movement

I'd go for row 17/18/19/20 in that order
