QF A330-300 Y Row 56

Hello!

We are flying whY for the first time in ages (yuck) from BNE to SIN on an A330-300. We will have Master_O with us without his own seat. I have selected 56D and 56F in the hopes that nobody will select 56E and we will have 3 seats for us.

Seat Guru has the following comment against these three seats (my bolding):

... is a standard Economy Class seat that may have restricted legroom due to the row configuration change.

My guess is that this is a bit of generic comment applied by Seat Guru where the number of seats across the width increases or decreases because the seat supports may not line up from one row to the next. Is this a fair assumption? Does anybody have any real world experience of row 56 on a QF 333?

The comment is more because the seat anchor in front may not be aligned with the seats behind... so you kind of have something in the middle of where your feet would normally go. I flew in one of those seats a few months ago but on a different airline. It was fine, you do get more space on the side of the missing seat (which can be the left or right of the cabin depending on the airline's configuration).

This is correct, I've flown in 56 on a QF 333 but my experience was not great. Couldn't see the IFE properly because I was looking at it from a slight angle due to the offset position of the seat in front of me. Also, because there's a little more aisle space, people seem to gather there which can be a bit annoying. I'd avoid it if I could.

This location worked perfectly for us. QF kindly blocked 56E and Mrs_O used one of those seat belt adapters that creates a harness in conjunction with the lap belt so Master_O was very comfortable, as were we.

On a side note, J in the refurbed 333s is much, much better than whatI remember it to be like prior to the refurbs. More than acceptable for a mid-haul day flight to Asia, IMO.
