First time poster here, but I figured you knowledgeable people might be able to help me out.
My wife, daughter and I (3 pax) will be travelling between Melbourne and Hong Kong with Qantas at the end of the year, on A330-300 flights, in economy. Given that we will be travelling in a party of 3, it would be ideal for us to sit in one of the rows of 3 seats toward the back of the A330 where the rows are 2-3-2, rather than further forward where the rows are 2-4-2. However, the Qantas online seat allocation system does not allow me to select any of these seats, and a phone call to Qantas booking informed me that these seats are reserved for high-status frequent flyers (I'm only bronze level).
So, my question is: Are there any tricks or methods I could potentially use to get us allocated to one of the blocks of 3 seats? I know it wouldn't be the end of the world if we ended up in a 2-4-2 row, but I'd like to at least try to get what I want...
Thanks!
