Hi everyone,

While browsing the Qantas Dreamliner page, I stumbled across this graphic:

QF787v2.jpg

Do you think the PE depicted here will be representative of the actual product, or just a placeholder for something more 'revolutionary'?

I wouldn't read too much into it, other than the number of PE seats (which has already been announced).

Other than a 2-3-2 seating layout what information can you possibly derive from that graphic?
Can you tell the difference between the B787 and A330 business suite from this depiction?
I don't think this graphic can be taken as representative.
For a start it shows no bulkhead (or room for one) between J and W or between W and Y.
I can't imagine that will be the case!

Interesting - the count appears to be correct - 42J, 166Y, and PE in a 2-3-2 config.

No, but there is a gap if you look at the floor level between J and W and W and Y. Usually a thin divider is all that will be in place. So W accesses forward J toilets or goes backward to Y?

Well they've announced 2x3x2 and space wise I can only see them being straight across.
You have enough width in PE so no need for a CozySuite style product anyway.

Good view of the Y seat map though.

If the render is meant to be accurate and representative it would appear the placement of the business seats has changed in the B787 - the odd numbered A and K seats now have the seat directly next to the window with the console separating the seat from the aisle. On the A330 the even numbered A and K seats are the true window seats.

Am I miss counting - I get 163 in Y from that seatmap.

4 rows of 9
1 row of 6 (missing DEF)

1 row of 6 (missing DEF)
12 rows of 9
1 row of 7 (missing window seats)

If the pix as shown will be the likeness of the real thing, while its good for those who don't mind no ground views, it has one downside for those who do like ground views.
The whole sector of sitting is over the wing.
No, I am not happy with that, most likely I will be buying comfort seat when I take my "next" 787 flight, having done the JQ 787 flight a while back.

My guess is that the seats depicted in this graphic are just a placeholder. Although, I'm not sure how revolutionary you can get when the seats are in a 2-3-2 configuration.
