I'm looking at taking QF5 SYD-SIN next April (If I can get a decent priced JASA) and note it is showing to be operated by a 56J/40W/275Y config 744. I think this an unrefurbished configuration (i.e. no A380-equivalent fitout, just the angled flat Mk 1 Skybeds).

Can anyone confirm that, and if so, are there plans to refurb all the 744s, or will some remain with Mk 1 beds until retirement? I'll take it anyway (may look a day before to see if a different config operates it, but subs happen anyway), but just curious to know.

Thanks

There are no plans to refurbish the old ones, of which you are apparently on!

All those that are to be refurbed have been done.

Of the remainder there are two basic layouts, both with skybed mk 1: four class has old Style first in zone A.

Easy way to tell? With row 4 == non-refubished, if as well, 1B exist == old 3 class.

Actually, given it is basically a daytime flight it is not a huge deal really, will not be doing much, if any, sleeping. If I do it, it will tick a box for me. I've flown J on all other current QF aircraft types that offer it, and on 743s in the past but never on a 744. :o
