Hi all,

Going to the US in April, and was wondering if QF flies the same set of planes across the Pacific, or do they cycle them?
I go past the SYD jetbase a few times a week, and often see the 380's sitting on the apron at the jetbase. At one point counted 3 at the same time.
I have been able to see on the tail
QF
QG

Does anyone know how Qantas organises the aircraft?

I don’t have all the links right now as I’m suffering from too much Guinness (or is it not enough?), but here’s the schedule:

The Qantas A380 implementation schedule

And the Qantas A380’s are named VH-OQ_ (currently from A to I (with A being the one that had the incident)).

I believe VH-OQJ is due this month, while K and L are to be delivered Q3 2011 and M in 2012.

There is a great tool at Qantas Source (QANTAS Flight Tracker.) which allows you to see which aircraft have been operating a particular flight. Just type in the flight number (ie 'qf11') to see the rego of the plane which operated that flight. Hope this helps.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
