Next month I will be traveling SYD-SIN-BOM and return.

I am soon to be a QP member, lounge access at SIN will be no problem.
However on the way back I want to access the Mumbai Associated lounge (Oberoi Clipper Lounge).
On the Qantas Club Website it has a note for the Mumbai lounge
+ Lounge access is only permitted when travelling on a Qantas operated flight.

The ticket will be booked through Qantas website, on a Qantas partner (Jetairways) with a QF flight number. Does this count as a 'Qantas operated flight'? or do I have to be on actual QF metal for lounge access?

Thanks in advance!

As long as it's a QF flight number ..

I was in a similar situation at LAX once, I couldn't use the Alaskin Airlines Lounge using QC, because I was on an AS flight. Even though it was codeshare with QF. I just was not on a QF ticket, even though it was an award flight...

A "Qantas operated Flight" is generally "Qantas Metal".

Contrast this with a "Qantas Marketed Flight" which simply has a QF flight number - can be on any carrier's metal.

In any case, there should be little harm in trying.

Thanks all for the advice, I might give Qantas a call tomorrow just to double check as well, don't want to have to pay to get into it!

If it says QF operated flight it must be operated by QF metal.

Last year I flew the Qantas codeshare on Jetairways (QF flight number operated by 9W, immediate connection to QF metal in SIN to Australia). We were flying economy

We got no lounge access, no priority check-in, no extra baggage allowance, no access to priority seating on the jetairways operated flight. (All of the things my QF membership would normally give.)

I confirmed the 'non-availability' of all these benefits with the station duty manager for QF. (I was a little bit peeved that we didn't even get priority check-in.)

QC access will therefore only be if you are on the actual direct QF A330 flight to SIN.

The QF website says:

Access to Associated lounges

You will be welcome at associated lounges in most international ports that Qantas flies to but where it does not operate its own lounge or partner airline lounge. Our associated lounges are operated by, or on behalf of, other airlines.^^ Present your Qantas Club, Platinum or Gold Frequent Flyer card at check-in and again with your boarding pass at the lounge reception. You may also invite one guest. Again, both you and your guest need to be travelling together further that day on a Qantas marketed flight.++ If you are taking a domestic flight, your guest does not need to be travelling. ##
^^Lounges are not available in ports that are only serviced by Qantas codeshare flights.
++ Qantas marketed means a flight with a 'QF' flight number on your ticket.
## Domestic associated lounges have been re-branded Qantas Regional Lounge.

Given that BOM is serviced by a QF operated flight this should be fine for access.

Simongr - your advice is correct with the exception of Mumbai and Shanghai. Under 'lounge locations' Mumbai is listed with a '+' - the small print says:
Mumbai+
Shanghai^
*Associated lounges are operated by, or on behalf of, other airlines in selected ports to which Qantas operates. Associated lounges may only be open to Qantas Club members two hours before Qantas departures.
Lounges operated by:
Jakarta - Jaea Angkaea Semeeta, JAS Executive Lounge
Manila - Pagstop, Manila Lounge
Mumbai - Oberoi Hotels, Oberoi Clipper Lounge
Shanghai - International Airport Authority
+ Lounge access is only permitted when travelling on a Qantas operated flight. ^ Available to Qantas Platinum Flyers, Gold Frequent Flyers, Business Class and Qantas Club Members travelling on QF130 and QF102.
So the answer, given the above plus my direct experience, is clearly - no access in Mumbai when travelling on the QF codeshare operated by 9W, no access in Shanghai unless on the Qf130 or 102

Apologies for that - a little misleading/contradiction in the QF website (again)...

FWIW, I have flown the Delhi-SIN QF codeshare a few times and there is definitely "no love" on that sector with regards to lounge access.

Prepare to be underwhelmed...........

Certainly no great service, seating limited, food ordinary but beer was cold when I was there. We were on direct flight home so can't help on other detail

I got two different answers from 2 diff phone staff, 1 said Qantas Operated means it has to be a Qantas plane, another said it just has to have a QF flight number.

Anyway I have found a flight that is on a Qantas plane the day after, so shouldn't have a problem getting in with my QP membership.

The flight the day after is you best bet.

The other qantas staff member was wrong and unaware of the exceptions that apply to the Shanghai and Mumbai lounges.

Went to the clipper lounge a few days ago on the way back to Aust, I was provided a lounge pass at the Qantas Business checkin counter.

Headed to the lounge, which looks new or at least recently renovated (the whole intl airport has been renovated).

The lounge was quite big, lots of seating, food was ok but lacking a bit (this was 9am), coffee machine was good. There was 1 computer for use and it was broken, no showers, toilets were clean.
Still was better than sitting out at the gate with the hordes waiting!

Rating Overall: 6.5/10
