Hi all,
Have just been lucky to find 2 J reward seats from Asia to Europe.
I've heard how tricky Qatar tends to be with J lounge access. If I have J on both legs, will I still be able to get Al Mourjan J class? or am I stuck at the one world class lounge?

From what I'm looking, we will have a long layover (e.g. arrive at 5am then our connecting flight is until 3pm), also hoping to see if exploring Doha may be worthwhile or am I just fine with staying at the lounge, assuming I have access?

Thanks,
S

Enjoy Al Mourjhan. That’s what we usually do. The other club is for one world but Al Mourjhan is for business class regardless of how the tickets are obtained.

Thank you all, turns out that the 787 flight that I was looking for that was going to give us the 9hr layover wasn't available and we were able to book an earlier flight on the older 777. So my transit in DOH is under 4 hrs.

Was able to redeem from SIN to Europe on J most legs (including a sector on QSuites), except on DOH-SIN return which was only available on Y. I'm assuming that even though I'm coming from a J sector from BCN-DOH, as I'm on Y from DOH-SIN, I will only have access to the oneworld "first" class lounge?

Certainly looking forward to trying QR J, heard a lot of positive feedback around their service.

Not sure if I follow you. if you are booked in Y leaving DOH, then you won't get lounge access, unless you are OneWorld Emerald status (Qantas Platinum), then you can still access the Al Morjhan lounge.

I don't think so. Those pax (travelling in Y) with OW status access have to use the OW "Qatar Airways First Class" lounge or the OW "Qatar Airways Business Class" lounge which are NOT the Al Safwa or the Al Mourjan lounges.

Hmmm .. you are probably right; I was a bit doubtful as I hit reply!

Oh my gosh I just googled Al Mourjan.. We will be flying QR J MAD - SIN in October with a 2 hour transit, I hope we have time to experience it.

Just be mindful that if you are ever tempted to “upgrade” (as I did for my partner) on a recent trip, even though I was full fare J and OW emerald they would still not let her join me in Al Mourjan!!! They offered me a special price of $100 USD though for her to join. The OW first lounge was full at 9am in the morning :( so we opted for a nice spot and grabbed some local cuisine from the food court..... (Burger King)
