Good Afternoon All,

I am flying business class to London in three weeks with Qatar, so here is what may appear to be a silly question,....

"Has anyone else experienced Qatar Business Class and is there a lounge at Melbourne International???

I am keen to hear what you think.

Thanks,

PartyMan

QR don't have a lounge in Melbourne, they use the Air New Zealand lounge in "the bunker" (where all but the QF F lounge and EK lounges are).

As far as lounges go, the Air NZ lounge in MEL is the nicest J lounge in "the bunker" having recently been renovated. I spent a few hours there before my QR flight to Europe a few weeks ago, and its very pleasant. Nice layout, comfortable seating, reasonable food options (the bain marie options weren't wonderful but not bad), selection of individual served sandwiches on plates with glad wrap, cakes, some wraps and other salads as well as fruit salads. Reasonable selection of soft drinks and juices (juices are in jugs in the fridge on the wall directly behind the reception desk).

You'll like it:) Free wi-fi is available, and the password is written on signs around the lounge. It's a good place to relax prior to your flight (and you'll love the QR on-board service, it's excellent; QF really could learn a lot from these guys!)
