I will be flying SYD to DOH in Business Class and then DOH to CAI in Economy on two separate bookings with Qatar Airways, booked with Velocity points. Am I eligible for lounge access in DOHA? the 2nd leg doesn't leave until 8am the next day:(

If you have any Velocity (or oneworld) status you may have access to the Platinum/Gold lounges at DOH.

Note to self, those onward bookings ex DOH would normally be in F to a regional port such as CAI (I must question why you would want to visit in any case) and not that more expensive. You could have grabbed a decent bed at the F lounge saving you accommodation costs.

The onward flight is in economy on a seperate booking though.
Also the F lounge sleep rooms are often in very high demand so no guarantee you would get one.

Yes, for a sleep room, best to arrive more than 8 hours before boarding.
