Qatar Airways Cancelled Flight

In November 2022, I made a reservation for a Qatar flight from Belgrade, Serbia, to Denpasar, Bali, scheduled for April 2023. However, in March, I received an email from Qatar Airways notifying me that the flight from Doha to Denpasar had been canceled and I needed to make a new booking.

Being a Privilege Club member, I contacted the member services line and was informed that I had to reschedule both the Belgrade to Doha and the Doha to Denpasar flights for a different day due to the cancellation. This change incurred an additional cost of 580 Euros, along with an extra night of accommodation in Bali to meet my JetStar flight connection from Bali to Perth. Furthermore, I had to request additional days of leave from work.

Regrettably, Qatar did not provide any alternative solutions. When I inquired about the possibility of a refund if I couldn't secure the extra accommodation or obtain approval for the additional leave, I was informed that I would receive a refund for the ticket, minus the 580 Euros booking fee.

It's disappointing that Qatar Airways did not offer any better options. In fact, if I may express my frustration, they seem to be overcharging with their additional fees.

Since Qatar Airways cancelled your flight, I would have expected them to re-accomodate you at no charge. That seems very poor.

Totally agree with you, but sadly they as well as the other middle eastern airlines have a monopoly on the east - west routes and don't give a damn.
I had the similar experience with Air Serbia which I will post later.

Something sounds wrong here :( Their conditions of carriage are explicit… cancellation = a reroute at no additional cost to you, or a full refund.
