For all eligible flights in November, you get one entry.

I think for the more frequent flyers amongst us we should probably get about 8-10 chances each.

This is the prize:
Prize includes:
Longreach trip

* 2 Qantas return economy flights to Longreach, Queensland.
* 2 nights twin share accommodation in Longreach.
* Entry to the Qantas Founders Outback Museum, including a tour of the Boeing 747-200 display.

France trip

* 2 Qantas return economy airfares to Paris, France.
* 2 nights twin share accommodation in Paris.
* Return transfers in Paris.
* 2 Air France return economy airfares to Toulouse, France.
* 2 nights twin share accommodation in Toulouse including breakfast.
* A VIP guided tour of the Airbus facility in Toulouse, including the A380 Final Assembly Line.

Gee thanks!

I just finish booking myself on a totally unnecessary SYD-MEL-SYD trip next week so that I could give myself a fighting chance at this, and then .... and then .... someone has to blab the details out to all and sundry.

There goes my free holiday.

Cheers,

AC

What I don't understand is why Qantas are so bloody lousy and don't offer business or first class flights as part of the prize.

I mean really, what is it costing them? $2 extra on a meal and 50c for some made-in-china pyjamas?

I agree.

And if you are lucky enough to win you should get credited with qff points and status credits. Then it would really be a worthwhile prize.

IFi was to win (and that is a big IF) i think i would choose to pass on flying all that way in economy for 4 nights.

i find it funny that you travel economy class and then get a VIP tour of the finaly A380 assembly line

You can't displace the poor staff/staff friends hiding out in the F and J cabin now can you? ....

The ticket isn't even upgradeable, so you couldn't use points to upgrade it. I recall one promo where J seats were on offer, but don't recall all of the details.

I agree too.

It's a bit like only putting in a half hearted effort or coming up with a great idea and then cutting corners to save a few dollars.

I think this is probably what disappoints me most about Qantas.. Such great potential as yet unrealised because of penny pinching.

Yes, there is no end to his ability to cry poor. Whenever a QF profit announcement is made, you can count on Geoff to clean up soon afterwards with an annoucement that they must cut staff, wages, and other costs or risk collapse.

I agree that this competition sounds a bit cheap. :(

Sitting in a Y seat BNE - SYD today I was so bored I read all the details about this on the back of the boarding pass and started to think about the odds. I've read that Qantas move approx the population of Australia in a year domestically (in something about their 85th anniversay). Does that imply that in Nov there would be about 1.6M eligible entries (if all registered)....then there is International on top of that. So I've probably got more chance of winning the lottery....

If you really are interested in airline statistics, I recommend look at the following site:

http://www.btre.gov.au/statistics/statsindex.aspx

Contains some good stats on the number of domestic flights etc per year (and on time peformance etc).

I agree though. Massive number of passengers moved by Qantas each day. Keep in mind that a good proportion of passengers wouldn't enter for various reasons.

I figure that since I go to the Qantas site a lot, it is no bother for me to add in my recent flights. It's a pity though that it is not a register once, enter automatically system like the Disneyland one was. Perhaps they are trying to see how motivated the average flyer is for a competition.

As it is today is my last November trip back to Sydney for a total of 5 domestic flights this month.

If I win I'll let you all know. :)

Daniel.

You put too much effort into winning :D

"Qantas Frequent Flyers who register online are required to register once only, entries for additional flights will then be automatic."

If a FF registers via telephone, or a non FF registers, then they have to do it for each flight. Do it via the web, and it's only once.

Do'h, didn't notice that. Oh well, I've already registered 4 out of 5 trips so far. :-|

Heh heh I think we will redefine the definition of cheap when Virgin start running competitions for their bday - you will probably have to pay for the airfare!
