QANTAS / China Southern to Commence Codeshare Service from mid-April 2014

QANTAS from 11APR14 is to launch codeshare operations with China Southern, initially covering 8 routes. Reservation for codeshare flights is expected to open later this week. Planned codeshare routes as follow.
QANTAS operated by China Southern QF3600 – 3699 Series
Guangzhou – Brisbane
Guangzhou – Fuzhou
Guangzhou – Kunming
Guangzhou – Melbourne
Guangzhou – Perth
Guangzhou – Sydney
Guangzhou – Urumqi
Guangzhou – Xiamen
Codeshare flight information appears on the week of 07APR14′s OAG Schedules Analyser update, as well as Flight Information (FLIFO) section in the GDS

Why would I either want to transit CAN or fly CZ, especially if I am paying a QF codeshare premium!

It reminds me of the time I told the waiter in the MEL F Lounge I was flying to QF/CX MEL-HKG-PVG and he asked why I didn't take the codeshare on MU to fly MEL-PVG direct. I just laughed and asked if he was serious.

Agree wholeheartedly! Flew CZ BNE-CAN a few years back (just after the route was launched) on a very tired bird. Certainly didn't feel like I was sitting in row 1, felt a bit like sub-par J. The FA's tried hard though, bless their nylon stockings.




The best was the linen napkin that you could button onto your shirt. Simple pleasures.....

Gidday Emu. From what I remember it was a light load up front on the way out and fuller on the way back- evening flight from CAN arriving about 8am BNE and was just before/ after the trade fair. (can't remember which!)
In the photo quite a few of the windowshades were down, hence the gloomy cabin. Ironically I think because it was too bright...
