Qantas Wine latest offering

I don't see a lot of point in buying Qantas wine now that Points Club is dead. I'm already qualified PC+ until it's death, later this year.

Did Qantas shoot off its little toe?
I'll probably need one more case to requalify for PC+ (waiting for a 'sorry, we missed you' voucher to lob in) and I'll burn off any other vouchers I get between now and the end of October 2027, but after that I suspect my purchases will be more patchy.

There may still be a need to buy wine to get status credits on the ground in the brave new world, but beyond that, I'll only buy if I have a specific redemption in mind and it's better value buying wine for the points compared to just paying cash.

I had a Qantas Wine delivery by Aramex today. I have not had any issues with the Aramex delivery people and process in my locality (Brisbane region).

Latest order just delivered by Australia Post yesterday. Is the Aramex experiment over?
Yea- mine here have suddenly changed back to AusPost too (Central Sydney, literally 5-10 minutes up the road from Qantas HQ and the airport).

And I almost wished it was the rather friendly Indian Aramex guy again instead who, despite his awful BO, was otherwise surprisingly reliable.

AusPost went straight back to their old habits today and did not bother to even ring the bell while we were both at home but instead just sent me the “No one home so pick up at your collection point” email. Which is never having parking spots available but is at the same time way too far away from here to collect without a vehicle. And I’ve ordered 8 boxes in total, thanks to the 9 points deal (and being a bit of a boozer, obviously). Grrrrr…

Mr orders to Canberra have been delivered by Aramex, as have deliveries from a few other wineries. I suspect their Canberra based contractors provide a better service than other locations, cos we're special 😁

Is this a reasonable deal? Works at around 1.8 cents per point with premium membership. 25,377 points for $459.

Seems pretty good value in terms of points purchase. Can't comment on the free wine they are giving you with the points purchase.

I got a 6-pack of this in a Qantas Wine deal just on 2 years ago, at $45pb. Available elsewhere currently for $50pb via a private contact.

If you like full bodied reds this is a damn good wine. Like RB I last bought the 2016 at $45 a bottle, and its a cracker at that price.

Edit - read more about the vintage and it seems they have dialed it back a bit now, less oak, less body etc...

This deal is $76.50 per bottle; $72 most other retail places. It’s all about the points though! 😂

The 2021 is a bit lighter(13.5% a/v) and less oaky than the 2016, maybe a good thing for some, maybe not for others.

Yes, so I read. The 16 was a bit much for me, but well lauded by friends. I would welcome a lighter style personally. Have you a source to get the 21 at $50?
