Side note, I usually get a discount through chat, today was offered either a discount OR extra bonus points instead

Small success. I was after a case of the Heirloom for $359.60 with 15,000 points. Didn’t offer a discount but did offer an extra 3000 points. Also offered another red for $120 for a 6 pack ($240 on the website) and an extra 1000 points. Better than nothing, and I’m always happy with an extra everyday wine.

Anyone know what this one from the latest specials is?

Vibrant & Fruity Sauvignon Blanc Semillon
The Summer drink of choice for decades and renowned for it's value, is WA sauvignon blanc semillon. And this vibrant & fruity sauvignon blanc semillon is no exception. It features fresh, clean and zippy fruits. The palate is simply bursting with passionfruit, kiwi and cut lime. Smooth, rounded and delicious - this offers outstanding value.

You'd then want to use your Woolies giftcard thing to grab a premium Roo steak to accompany these bottles = another 30 QFF points.

unless on clearance again somewhere or there's another AmEx offer, 10% off via Points Club Plus is possibly the cheapest currently for these - list prices:
  • Henschke Mount Edelstone Shiraz 2016 $225
  • Henschke Hill of Roses Shiraz 2016 $415
  • Henschke Hill of Grace Shiraz 2016 $890

also
  • 40% off Woodlands Cabernet Merlot 2018 GW94, HH92 12pk 35,000pts (2917pts/bt)
  • Jericho McLaren Vale Shiraz 2016 CM(WF)93 6pk + 5000pts = $174/$29
  • Jericho McLaren Vale S3 Shiraz 2018 CM(WF)93, NB91 12pk $20

I know it might be considered bad value and a poor use of points, however with the recent Points Club Plus announcement of extra benefits - in particular the 2x $50 birthday vouchers, has anyone ever used a voucher + points to make a purchase?

Given the way things are, it probably wouldn't hurt to use some for a small purchase without using any cash.

And perhaps a toaster?

If anyone plans to spend 2k or more on QF wines then worth giving them a call to enquire about this offer:

As one of our top customers I would like to extend you exclusive access to our VIP offer for the month of June. This offer, reserved for a small group of select customers, is only available over the phone.

Your exclusive offer is, spend $2,000 or more on wine in one transaction at Qantas Wine via the Wine Advisor service, and receive a bonus of either 30,000 Qantas Points, on top of the standard points per dollar and any bonus points earned; or two bottles of Pertaringa Yeoman McLaren Vale Shiraz 2017 valued at $500. Plus for every additional $1,000 spent in the same transaction you will earn either another 15,000 Qantas Points (up to a maximum of 90,000 points); or an additional bottle of Pertaringa Yeoman McLaren Vale Shiraz 2017 (up to a maximum of 6 bottles).

Wonder if this can be combined with 10% for Points Club Plus members. In the past I've been told the extra bonus points can't be applied on top of the 10% off.

Likewise, realistically its just 15% value back in points.

but has conditions of:
Cash purchases only and excludes: Penfolds, Pepperjack, Standish, Spirits, Food, Beer/Cider, Sparkling/Champagne, mini-bottles and Wine Subscriptions

Hmmm so for a Points Club Plus member, you'd essentially be paying $200 for 30,000 points .... a good deal, but I don't really need $2k of wine. 🤣
