Just received a delivery from Qantas Wines, and noticed the carton it was packed in was a lot poorer than previous shipments I've received. Previously the cartons have been pretty sturdy and I haven't had any problems. This one was really flimsy and totally unsuited for a dozen bottles travelling from Sydney to Country Queensland.

The packaging has been enhanced?

Of course one of the bottles in the corner had been damaged, looks like a sharp object had penetrated the box and the stelvin closure which was leaking. Rang Qantas Wines, and someone with a Filipino accent gave me a 10% off voucher, so no drama there. I probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't decided to repack them in another box (poor man's wine cellar!)

Anyone else noticed these coughpy boxes?

Having ordered wine before from Virgin Wines, I'd say that box seems fairly sturdy to me and certainly comparable to the box I received when I last ordered from Virgin. It's good to hear that customer service was able to resolve the issue satisfactorily. If there was one whine I'd have about Qantas Wines is the bonus points offers thus far haven't been particularly appealing. In particular, I recall not too long ago that Virgin Wines was running a promotion where you'd get 14 bottles of wine, 2000 Virgin bonus points and stemware for like $100. With Qantas even if I wanted to get a lowly 5000 bonus QF points I'd be looking at shelling out $200 on a case of plonks. Not good value if you ask me!

All of that being said, yours truly is still sipping through their case of Virgin wine they ordered last year.

I received a similar offer from Virgin today, pretty much the same but came with a folding picnic table in lieu of the stemware…

Possibly. The QF case wasn't outrageously priced and came wifh 10,000 bonus points, so there was no way I was sending it back!

Had the same thing yesterday, I wasn't home so mine went to the PO, was hoping that I actually made it home without the box crumbling. It was like the boxes have all been wet at some point and left to dry, I have been using a previous box for months and months for recycling and it's sturdy as.
