I have been searching for some international flights out of Singapore into Sydney.
As status credit matters, I refuse to fly direct into Sydney, but rather I would like to try some one stop options such as going via Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Darwin.
From Singapore, if you are flying via Brisbane, Perth and Darwin, it appears that the Australian leg can only be booked in Economy Class when Business Cabin is available:

If SIN-PER-SYD is all in Business, once can earn 180 SCs one way, however it appears that Qantas is not allowing passengers to be booked in Business between Perth and Sydney.
As someone who is sick and tired of overnight flights in and out of Australia, and also need to travel on Premium Cabins with as many stops as possible to maximise status credits, Qantas inability to offer Business Cabin all the way one stop into Australia appears to be very inconvenient and also doesn't allow itself to compete against Singapore Airlines.
I wonder why is it the case and how can I ensure I book SIN-PER-MEL-SYD one way entirely on Business on one PNR?
Thank you.

That's so interesting!
I would call Qantas in the morning in the hope of getting through to Hobart, and explain your predicament and see what they can do?
I would hazard a guess that it's because they can almost reap the same revenue from the QFi leg as the QDd leg and don't want to give one of those precious 12 seats away for a connection. Would be interested to hear what the agent says too!

Must be something with the dates you have chosen. I tried a few searches an get Business options all the way.

Probably no I and D class availability on the domestic sectors. If you post the dates we can check.

Have you tried an an online travel agent or Amex Travel?
Travel Agent such as Trip..com can do SIN-PER-ADL-SYD on Business, but if it is SIN-PER-MEL-SYD then MEL-SYD is on economy only.
Also I was wondering if I am booking through trip.com whether it is eligible for DSC when offer is available?
