Are any passengers regarded as premium customers, or is this about corporate customers?

Was in the AA JFK Flagship lounge yesterday and the manager was very excited about the new AA flights to Australia. Apparently there is a real buzz within AA about their return to Australia.

If I remember early Sunday morning, I might ask some AA LAX staff.

AA has rights to 4 gates in TBIT. The airside connector is meant to open mid next year.
The T4 FIS area isn't open very long hours. If there is an international arrival at T4 when CBP is closed, pax are sent to the TBIT arrivals via a tunnel. If T4 CBP is closed at the early arrival time for the AA SYD-LAX, as they are promoting it at a flagship route, they might forgo the tunnel and just use a TBIT gate. Which gate they use might depend on what the aircraft does between the SYD flights. IIRC, the plan is to route the aircraft on a JP-US-AU-US-JP route.

Because QF and AA actually get along extremely well.

... and their flights feed into each others network, so most onwards bookings will most likely be through AA/QF (i.e., revenue $$$).
