The short story: I booked 12 Qantas Flights Hobart to Kangaroo Island and return on two vouchers. I get this message below and have been waiting two days to have access to the vouchers to make further bookings.
Is this standard Qantas practice?😒

This voucher is currently being processed and cannot be used. Please try again later. (15101 - 0)

You probably won't be able to use the vouchers until the flights you have booked have been ticketed and the payment deducted in some arcane manner by "Qantas Finance". Apparently they are completely separate to the booking and ticketing teams. And they don't work weekends.
I am curious to know what happens with the booking references in this situation.
Does the voucher with the left over amount retain the original booking reference?
Do all the flights have (a) new booking reference(s)?

Residual voucher is issued with a new reference.

I'm not sure how the Op has managed to book 12 flights on 2 vouchers. What does this involve? Did you book 6 people on each voucher travelling together? Or are you saying you booked a series of return flights on separate dates?

Because the later is not even possible with a voucher. Using the voucher involves booking a flight (return for example) then getting issued a new voucher with any remaining value. Certainly not possible to reuse the same voucher for multiple flights. Certainly should not be using the same vouchers for further bookings.

Have you tried ringing qantas and quoting the voucher reference? Have you tried using manage my booking with the voucher reference?

Thank you for the replies. So I should be patient and wait a few more days. The Vouchers have to be used by the 5th of December so I guess I still have time.

You could call the call centre and ask them to expedite ticketing and issue of the residual voucher.
They can usually get it done straight away.

I also wonder how they ended up with two vouchers of high enough value to do such bookings and have enough residual value to make further bookings.
However I usually assume the background information is correct, and just try my best to help on the basis of that.

100% agree that a call to qantas is required, or to try manage the booking

You can buy a voucher for upto 9 pax at $2000 per pax., $18000 total value.

Yes but why would you unless you were using it for a specific purpose in which case why would you have a residual value?

!2 flights I guess it's 2 lots of Hobart-Melbourne, Melbourne-Adelaide, Adelaide-Kangaroo Island and then Return. We planned an over night stay in Melbourne to break it up.

Have I rung Qantas?
This is the long story. 🤣 I waited a day Friday to Saturday and made a call. After 90 minutes I get through to "David" I mentioned there's no record of bookings on mine and my wife's QF login page and no emails confirming booking nor new Voucher Numbers.
I say to "David" I would like to make "another booking". He goes away assuming I want to cancel all the flights and then goes on to say 'You can now login and make new bookings'. 'Yes use the same Voucher Number'. 🤨

Mistake in communications. 🤪
I should have said to "David", "additional bookings" not "another booking".
Nothing is up on QF login page and now Voucher Numbers don't work.😱
So I phone again 90 minutes and get hold of "Viwe" who can only or rather only wants to do the one batch of bookings to Kanga Island and return to Hobart for autumn 2020 and not the "additional bookings" to Cairns and return back to Hobart for winter 2020 .
The flights now show up but we get This voucher is currently being processed and cannot be used. Please try again later. (15101 - 0).

I won $5000 Qantas Voucher which was equally given to both of us $2,500 by Qantas management.
We have used a third of the amount for a Hobart Darwin return winter 2019.
Ah congratulations!
I knew there would be a good reason!

I learnt something new....

They are allowed to have an short expiry date if won as part of a promotion

Yep 12 months use by date. It was one of those Woolworths Qantas prizes from last November 2019 where you logged your Woolworth docket number spending $30 plus. I went back into Woollies while buying the groceries for the week and purchased $30 batches of groceries. The odds to win a Voucher were amazingly good. I think there were 284 prizes Australia wide. I put in 19 entries. Now I need to use it up by booking tickets by December 5th.

Here's the Promotion.. https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/...=wk15-qantas-5000-gift-voucher-2&cardId=11720

Ah Promo voucher. Much different. I thought there was a specific booking portal for the promo vouchers.

I only had about 5 entries in that promo. But was busy collecting bonus points for spending $xx_ in one transaction, so couldn't do the $30 thing. Good tip for the next promo.

Well agreed, I wouldn't buy a voucher for 9 people. But have in the past got vouchers for multiple people without a specific purpose in mind.

When they had the 10pts/$ Christmas offers on vouchers it would have been quite common for people to have bought vouchers without knowing what they were for.

Here I go again ringing Qantas just now. A wait of between 1hr and 25 minutes and 1hr 53 min.
At least It's a call back this time.
and
why don't they employ more staff when they say in a recording " We have a high volume of customer Calls" hence the delay. 🤪

AAhhh  Got through to be told by "Jem" the ticketing department has now been advised and it may take 48 hours for new voucher and confirmation email to be sent. We did manage to get the balance which was less than expected. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor to hurry things along and was transferred twice more only to end up in the Qantas call center queue. This time a wait of 2hrs and 30 min. Okay. I give up. 😭 Those Qantas Cairns flight special that expire tonight are now not possible.
Qantas. Your Voucher System S..ks.
Does anyone have Alan Joyce's private Number?

As this is a marketing/promo voucher, can you go back to the marketing/management person who sent out the details. Sounds like they've stuffed this one up massively.

Thanks Vic.
The Email document was from Qantas Customer Service [email protected]
Perhaps I'll send a very brief email to see if they are interested in getting back to me.
and then tell the long story.
